Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

That also makes sense, I guess I need to just sit back and take a look at the configuration. The head unit came with no hard manual, but I think I remember seeing a user manual app installed on the unit itself, so will have a look at that later.

You could get a camera as they are very cheap and just store it until one day you feel like doing it, I am sure you will get around to it as you like to tinker with the car and you have a compatible head unit so you are already half way there. :)

There is that yes :p

Might also just sack off the idea and use my human senses instead :o

Navall do a camera that fits the convertible.. I'm sure it'd be compatible, and I think they sell those on their own, just drop them a call/email..

This was the picture they sent of it installed..

£295 a year for mine registered 12/2005. If your car was registered after 1st march 2006 then you pay the higher tax band.

Looking at your new shiny I'm half tempted by what looks like the single din version of yours http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1Din-HD-Q...355820?hash=item25bcdc7a6c:g:WgIAAOSwY0lXS5~d (Wish it didn't have those silly graph things but my choice is very limited). But my knowledge of such thinks android is very limited.

Even though I love pioneer there latest and only single din unit seems massively cut down from their double din offerings, and is basically a faster version of my double din I got from them 6 years or so ago.

Hmm two things come to mind with that, will the screen block the vents when it's up? Also those dials yeah, they might make the console look a bit out of place with that!

I sold the Parrot today to a guy in Southampton off cutters forum. He turned up in a silver pre-facelift M3 with grey 18s on. Car looked fairly good condition and had BEST GEARBOX. He didn't clutch in when turning it off though, so it sounded like a sack of spanners being dropped on the floor (this is normal). Said he'd only had is a couple of weeks, much to learn :p

Yeh i am not 100% sure on it really. Dont think i could get over the dials. Not to bothered about covering the vents, I very rarely have them on anyway, and looks wise anything i get and what I currently have will look out of place. Not a large choice of Z4 replacment head units :p

Loving it today out and about perfect weather
Deffo the weather for a convertible!

With 22 degrees of pure sunshine, I went for a 2 hour blast through the Cotswolds which was perfect. The kids love it when I overtake. 3rd gear from 60-90 is pretty decent, and I don't think I'll tire of the engine/exhaust noise..

Will order my head unit this week I think, the factory Nav is OK to a point, but it is just so out of date (even with the latest maps), no proper traffic or connectivity like I'm used to, I ended up using my phone with Google maps to make sure I missed some pretty bad tailback on popular routes and I miss just being able to stream from the phone, or from my cloud music accounts..

Hence the box of hair-dryers, duh!

Today has been a perfect day for convertible driving. The induction noise is just excellent. Hope tomorrow is the same, up at Evolve getting the remap done, which I'm quite excited about.

Should be nice tomorrow , though I am stuck in work but should be a nice drive to and from. I agree about the induction noise, a week of having the roof up I forget how it sounds and then love it again as soon as the roof goes down.

By the way, since there are a fair number of ragtop owners here now, I've found the Turtle Wax cleaner to also be pretty good too.

I've got a few marks on my roof now it would seem, gonna wait until after the summer and use that roof restorer Will Gill mentioned to bring the entire canvas back to black.

I've got this along with the restorer/protector. Awesome stuff but takes a keen eye to keep the roof colour consistent. Try to apply even pressure at every stage. Works a treat on my navy blue hood.
