Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

Plenty of colours to chose from. If you need help doing it when you down Medway way your more then welcome to come to my work and ill sort it out for you.

Many thanks, I think I can hold off until I'm by there one day, would be good to brush up on micro electronics knowledge then too! I am however going to try putting a thin blue sweet wrapper in front of it to see if it turns out green enough to look decent and this would reduce some brightness too. If it's green enough, then can just leave it like that I guess.

Buy a tin of quality street, plenty of colours in there :P

But if you did want to pop in just send us a message and we can sort it out :)

Think the next time I'm around the London area is not for a couple of months now. But will definitely follow up.

I could do with enabling M-Track mode, I do find DSC too nannying even with only moderately spirited driving! I do have a 2016 B-Cables setup so just need to MTFU.. Unfortunately I don't have the LED in the dash cluster, which is shame because as mentioned, it's the mode you'd probably want on all the time, so will see what options there are.

ON a side note, my 2004 doesn't have the later lighting module, so no 3 indicator lane change flash option.. but I noticed my Smarttop module had a software update which adds this feature, so quickly updated the firmware and it seems to work well! It's little features like that I missed since every other car I've owned in the past 10 years has had it.

And I've just cleaned the soft top again, looked quite good, sprayed the waterproofer on, and the only 'shower' cloud in the area has come over and drenched it!!! Will have to reapply tomorrow :(

I need to get on to cleaning and applying Renovo to my soft top. Just need the damn rain to no pile down in the middle of June...

@mrk - I just had a pig of a time enabling m track mode. I have pretty much sorted it out now, but would you have your fsw_psw.man file? I suspect someone had been fiddling with the settings since it had all the non zcp options already set but things like psr_msr disabled. I would just like to check my codings with yours if possible to ensure nothing is incorrect.

I will say it's a nice improvement ovet full fat dsc!

I noticed while checking this with the PDF that DTC_LAMPE was set to nicht_aktiv, which according to the PDF would mean the DSC light functions as standard if there isn't an M Track light available and one isn't going to be soldered on. Yet my M track light comes on anyway. I figure this must be a random thing and on mine it just works as intended (single press for M track + M track light, long press for DSC off).

I should expect so given the community size for them!

Here's one of the many benefits of having an aftermarket headunit

I posted this in the cleaning thread, but thought it worth adding here too:

I tried the Turtle Wax roof cleaning kit on the weekend.
The cleaner was actually very good, I'd say it cleaned equally as good, or maybe slightly better then the Autoglym equivalent.

The conditioner/protection spray from Turtle wax is not as good, it doesn't repel water really.. the Autoglym is pretty decent at that. I used 3/4 the bottle on the roof on Saturady, but unexpected rain made me doubt it if had not been washed out, so used the remaining turtle wax protector on the front part of the roof, then used autoglym on the rest of it, you can see the difference after a few hours of heavy rain:

I'll order some G-Teknik and Fabsil to do a similar experiment....

Obviously water proofing the fabric isn't required since there is a rubber layer, but I think it helps.

And on the head unit front, I'm just waiting for extension leads / camera to arrive before fitting, but I do have the Navall 3 head unit sat at home!

Hmm interesting thanks! I've actually ordered the Renovo kit, so will be using that for a while having now tried both Turtlewax and Autoglym products. The Renovo will re-colour the roof black and make it new again.

Yeah im gonna get some of that Renovo, my top could do with a re colouring. Ill check that raggtop out too.
Took these pics the other day...

Lovely pics, love the interior colour combo!

I installed my new head unit yesterday:
I think it fits very nicely, and it's superb!

The off centre bit would bug me, is there any reason it has to be offset to the left?

Other than that, it looks quite clean for a single DIN unit!

Little jobs this week:
- Swapped out the Throttle Position Sensor on the front of the engine.. ECP had a sale, so thought I might as well.. it seems something that commonly fails, so just thought I'd do it whilst I could be bothered
- Used a Normfest Viro OneShot AC Cleaner to clean the air system and de-odourise. It wasn't particularly bad, but a faint whiff of old car smell was evident.. now nice and fresh
- Changed the cabin air-filter whilst I was at it
- Replaced the 5A fuse in my Angel eyes after I accidentally shorted one of the wires when I tidied it all up!

Hah I know it's off centre, but it really doesn't bother me when I'm in the car. I'm not sure why it has to be, the fascia plates are all just like that. I think it may be that the original stereo was slightly offset in the rear, and then you have to put your stereo in the same gap.

Honestly, it really doesn't make a difference to me. The car, as always is the case for me, feels so much more complete with my own music playing!

The one thing that's bothering me a tad is that the panel above it doesn't fit 100%, so I'm going to have to cut the fasica a bit.

Got the Renovo today. Applied the cleaner and reviver black colour. Just waiting for it to dry now before applying the 2nd coat and then the ultra proofer. Seems good so far. The cleaner didn't lift off much dirt at all, guess my roof was already clean :p
