Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

Oh? TBH autocorrect/predict inserted the "have" - I didn't care enough to backtrack and edit it out.

Edit*

Just dropped off the car to mate's body shop for front end respray. It will be with him for at least 3 days as it's gotta have bumper/wings off for the job etc. Also getting the boot lid done as I accidentally scratched it with the end of the pressure washer recently, boo.

Inb4 "lol respray".

I know only too well how frustrating it is being one of the guys on the other end of things. Trouble is because of the way things are changing there's no "tidy" way of doing things for the lack of a better word. It's a complete logistical nightmare

You'd have thought they would have planned this all well in advance!

I have a free Spotify account but have specific randomised playlists set up so tend to just stream that via my phone (BT) to the Parrot's built in bluetooth music player. The Parrot's Market version of Spotify isn't the latest but it does do the job alright. 95% of the music I have is played back from the phone direct though. I do not use Deezer.

I have rooted the Asteroid btw, it's got Google Play Store on there with various other apps not avaialble on the Asteroid Market but are on Play Store.

Over all I am rather impressed with the unit. I have improved its multitasking performance by upping the allocated RAM to 2GB via a fast SD card and RamExpander app. I switch between Waze and Music/other apps often so it's nice having the faster response when doing all this.

If the future of the updated Android Auto model wasn't an unknown then I'd have not bothered with all the tweaking, but as it stands, I may as well keep this for a lot longer as everything just works fine.

So Autoglass guy turned up today, weather is great and am glad I chose the afternoon time slot as it was pants in the morning...

4th time lucky eh... the guy said it might have had to have been a re-booking today as it didn't get delivered to the warehouse when he went in the morning to collect it so went off to do another job. It got delivered during then and he went all the way back to pick it up. It's the same guy who came the first time round so he knew the hassle I'd been through.

And while I was faffing with the plates this morning:

on one hand it looks much cleaner and nicer with no tax disc and no front plate (to me), but I agree with some others that it looks a bit empty down there... Or maybe we're just too used to front plates over here :o

Looks better without the plate. I wanted to run plateless but I rather not have it displayed in the windscreen or sun visor.

Just drive without the front plate. The fine is something comical anyway.

£50 fine and being questioned every time you drive passed a police car is hardly comical.

It looks so much better with it on as it breaks up the front end. It also comes with the added bonus of it being legal and you won't have to speak to police officers who think you've just nicked some fuel or something.

IME the police don't really care about number plates. Couple of friends running around now with no front plate and not had any bother. I once got pulled in my black Colt and the copper gave it a good look over and didn't even pass comment that there was no plate on the front.

Reported mine to Autoglass on the 25th but its taking so long for them to source the glass as its comfort glass with rain sensor so needed ordering from BMW. Still taking a while and each time they say the local team will call me not once has anyone called. I need to do the chasing. Not exactly brilliant service from AG.

Yup even the guy today said they too are feeling the stresses of the new "transition".

I'd put my money on that you'd not actually get stopped that frequently.
The one and only time i drove without a plate, i got stopped.

I had the front of the Lexus resprayed, the bodyshop lost the front plate holder, so I was driving direct to Lexus to collect the one id ordered..... got pulled.

That sums up my luck!

That is such a JDM scene bwoy excuse :D

What planet people are on thinking it's better to run without a front plate is beyond me.

up here it seems they don't bother,

ran without a front plate for 2 years on my RS Turbo with no hassle a few years back and my old man still hasn't refitted his to his merc after it fell off (going on 6 months now)

a lot of it is just pot luck as theres always one police officer who will want to pull every single thing over but the lack of traffic officers (up here at least) and the focus on speeding rather than anything else seems to generate a lot of leeway.

MRK loose those silver kidney grille surrounds eeew. other than that fantastic car ;)

You lot would probably change your mind if some car came storming down the road, then you witnessed them knock someone over and took a left/right turn before you could see the back plate :)

Just one of many reasons why it's probably better all round to play it safe and save yourself the hassle.
