Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

Glad to see it's finally sorted!

I've just got the Eventuri intake for mine, and my God it makes one hell of a noise. Smiles per gallon have doubled!

Interesting, can I ask the total cost of that? I take it it's like the CSL airbox whereby in normal motorway driving it's no louder than stock M3?

To Cutters, it's £599, which is fairly steep. However, I managed to blag a second hand one (only 2k miles usage and still in original packaging!) for much much less than that!

Yes exactly you wouldn't know it was there whilst you were cruising around, it only comes to life when you start putting your foot to the floor and it sounds good. Really good. From hearing how good the S54 sounds with this on, you can't help but wonder why BMW didn't do something to release a bit more induction noise!

Wow I was expecting £1k+.

Alright, looks like I know what to buy next, the fitting video from this guy looks dead easy too.

Clearly BMW were leaving that for the CSL ;)

Yeah it wasn't challenging at all and everything fitted perfectly.

Here's a bit of a comparison video. It's good, but hearing it in person and hearing it on the video just makes you realise how much microphones don't pick up!

Yeah, but at £4000 for one of those puppies, it's something a lot of us lowly, cheapskate standard M3 owners will never experience! Luckily the Eventuri was invented so we can at least get close. :p

I take it no remap is required for this? I don't want to faff around with that stuff, just want that intake noise. I think I mentioned before that if the other carbon box (mafless) didn't hike up to over £1k and remained at £500 as per the pre-order price then I'd have had that, but this looks better and is simply a direct swap by the looks of it.

No, the car policy is "Business Class 1", so only I can drive it for purposes related to business or profession. The indemnity/public liability cover is via my photographic insurance policy, that covers injury, damage etc.

Edit*
Car is in desperate need of a wash, the sandy water spots all over make me sad :(

Well looks like the Autoglass saga continues, just when I thought part 1 was well and truly out of the way.

The trim has a weather seal that simply wedges in to the bottom lip, so the guy must have taken it off and not remembered to put it on to the new trim and bunged it in the van with the old trim. You can see where it sits from the gap in the lip of the lower weather strip in the pic:

I genuinely didn't notice this on Friday, it's not obvious standing back really.

This is a disaster!

Can't help but laugh, what a nightmare this is for what seems the simplest of jobs for a company that just does one thing!

Hope you get it sorted quickly!

When the guy finally turns up to do mine on the 27th thanks to this thread I will be watching him like a blooming hawk :D

And the best bit? That strip isn't something you can buy on its own either as it doesn't have a part number!

Edit*
They've DMd me saying they will refund the full £75 excess and will show up in my account in 3 to 5 days. They are unsure as to the weather strip I mean though so have said I can simply get it replaced myself and send the bill direct to the lady at Autoglass.

So essentially what this means I end to buy the scuttle trim from BMW which will come with the weather strip as you can't buy just the strip on its own.

What a farce!.

Edit2*
BMW just called me back to say they've found a part number for the strip, £12.13. Great, Will pick that up tomorrow from work.

Autoglass have agreed to foot the bill for the strip and I'm picking it up tomorrow. Joy of joys this looks like it has finally come to a legitimate close.

My bolster was bothering me for so long. I was planning on getting Furniture Clinic to see to it at £120 but they've upped their minimum call-out fee to £175 now and I said sod that, plus Wick convinced me that the colourant kit was worth it.

So, got this:

To work on this:

Which resulted in this, and this is before the paint has fully dried and not had the super seal sprayed on yet:

What a fantastic piece of kit, and it only cost £40. There's loads of product left too for future use.

Got a link for the kit mrk? Need to do my interior seats as well as they're tatty. Is it simple to use?

It comes with instructions and they also have videos on their site so yup, it's pretty simple to follow. The Leather Prep I used after the Alcohol Cleaner, the prep is s solvent cleaner and literally rubs off colourant. Once it starts to transfer on to the cloth or pad you know it's time to start colouring with the airbrush.

Link: http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Colourant_Kit.php

on the lower tab things click "Car Colours" and select your car then choose the colour as appropriate.

The Furniture Clinic kit did amazing things to my e36 M3 grey interior which I thought was a write off, I still need to finish the front seats though but a new job got in the way. The rear seat went from a cracked abomination to almost new, I posted up some pics a few months ago.

Sounds like this 'Wick' character knows what he is talking about though mrk. Stick with people like that.
