Bourbon, Rye and American Whiskey

I've had the rye but don't recall it being anything special. Bought the bourbon anyway, I like to have a bourbon or rye in for my Boulevardiers and the BT is dangerously low :p

I didn't rate their Eye either, but let me know how you find the Bourbon. Its one of my favourites, particularly at £20!

Got a bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select, second one I've had was years ago now I tried it, I got it on offer normally £45 but damn it's good.

The legacy edition Jack Daniels (old fashioned looking green bottle) is back on Amazon £22.

I just ordered one.

Makers Mark is £23.

Jack Daniels number 6 distillers select is on Tesco with a clubcard for £20, but that isn't quite a good as the legacy edition IMO, not that there is much in it.

Going to try the JD legacy, cheers.

Yea let me know what you think, I've had it a few times before, maybe I have a good bottle not sure, I have found bottle to bottle they do vary, I seem to have a good one and I've bumped it right up the list.

Definitely Woodford varies also, two bottles back had a particularly good one.

So tried another one today added to the list.

Early Times Old Reserve.

Actually not as bad as I had thought it would be, smooth enough although the flavour is just a bit plain. Cheaper end also I paid £21 I think.

JD Legacy, I quite like it, and can drink neat, unlike the standard JD which I would only ever use as a mixer. Will get it again when it's on offer.

Yea I reckon for £22 on offer it's not bad at all. I wouldn't buy it at full price.

..... saying that I tend to surf between Tesco and Amazon and only get bottles when they are on offer.

£18 when you order by 27/06/2021. Offer subject to availability.
Maximum 20 promotional items per customer !!!!!
So fill your boots up to 20 Bulleit !!!!

That a cracking deal on Bulleit, cheapest I ever seen it if I am honest. Great bottle also one of my favourites.

Jack Daniels Legacy edition no.2 on offer at Amazon £23.99

I thought it was the legacy edition that I tried recently and mentioned in this thread at first but the label is different.

Anyone tried it?

No I have not tried it but ordered one thanks for the heads up.

The legacy edition (I'm guessing we've both had) is the green coloured label one.

This is different....... or at least the bottle is.

Woodford Reserve £19.99 on Prime.

Nice.

Bourbon is quite good at the moment in general.

Makers Mark £23

Jack Daniels Legacy No 7 £22

Buffalo Trace £18

Early Times old reserve aint bad at £21.45

Makers Mark 46 £28 - normally way way overpriced considering it is only marginally better/different to regular

Yes last night, actually:)

I may be wrong, but to my rubbish taste buds it tasted the same as the legacy (green bottle). Let me know if you think the same when you get round to trying it.

Yea I cracked it Thursday, and yes it think it's the same stuff.

I do like it though, it has a certain flavour punch you dont get with a lot of the others. At the expense of it being slightly rougher, in comparison that is.

Ah glad that you think the same. Yeah I like it as well, when on offer. Think the green bottle legacy went offer as well shortly after purchasing this one.

I'll probably keep one of each of the bottles. I dont normally keep bottles, but these are quite cool.

There is another one here:

https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p...f7RosPVq8uPmxgZCuS4wpWoGKcAj99BhoCnrwQAvD_BwE

But your basically paying a tenner for the bottle at that price........as I bet it's the same stuff.

Tried a new one today, Old Williamsburg Bourbon.

Screw cap and never heard of it so had my doubts, but its actually a decent bottle, very smooth.

Not quite as good as Makers Mark/Woodford/Bulleit which are also generally cheaper, but not bad.

I have another one I have not tried before either up next.

Next one, Henry McKenna Bourbon.

Very similar to Old Williamsburg actually, not quite as good but barely anything in it. Tastes very similar to Wild Turkey this one. Not bad.

Pleased I've tried both of these, both were good bottles, I wouldn't rush out to get them again though given they were both low £30 bottles, better out there for the money, but good none the less.

I just been through a bottle of Eagle Rare, it's from the Buffalo Trace distillery, and usually about £35 so you think it would be good.

Couple of years since I had it wasn't sure then, this time round I'm like nah, never again.
