Boy Racer Image has to Go.....

I said no to the boy racer image though... So why would I want to look at the VXR lol!

25k is more than I plan to spend..... Nice though![/QUOTE

Because if you want to have some fun, you want one with a decent engine. Which on a VXL means looking at the VXRs

Also, 15k really isn't enough for a decent saloon. The BMW 335i is out of range, so that leaves e46 330i as the only 3 series saloon in budget.

Not really any audi's i'd want at that price either. 3.0 Quattro isn't that amazing and the S4 is too old at that money.

Personally i'd say ignore the boy racer image and get this.

But thats me :D

Are you out of your cotton picking mind.....!

252bhp 0-60 in 6.7 for the auto, 6.2 for the Manual. Not exactly amazing, and it won't feel fast either because its N/A

If DAIR is used to the Turbo Kick of the corsa VXR the 3.2 FSI is going to feel a bit slow in comparison.

Problem is they are reasonably rare. There are only 6 3.2 FSI Audi A4 saloons for less than 15k under 5 years old.

They never sold very well which makes choice about spec and stuff limited.

Porsche Boxster S!

Well thats what I tanked my 15k on after having a boy racer MR2 turbo with NOS LOL

thats just it, the pre LCI looks are nasty, and a 325i ? after a corsa VXR ?

Don't see him enjoying it myself.

The 325i would be much better placed in a work's car park than a Corsa would be. Much more professional image and a much more comfortable car, with power still. So I don't see why you have that idea.

Depends if he wants to keep the sort of enjoyment he gets from the Corsa VXR

or if he just wants a good saloon car. If thats all he wants then the 325i will fit the bill nicely.

The Pre-LCI front isn't wonderful, but some people like it. And, the 325i is still giving out 216bhp and 0-60 in something like 6.7 seconds, which isn't to be sniffed at. Anyway, if he wants a saloon i'd get a 330i over the 325i, but if he wants the coupe then a 325i is a good option IMO.

Well, he has said he wants a saloon now. I only recommended a 325i because i thought a coupe was an option, because it was more widely avaliable than the 330i and more likely to be in his budget.

If he wants to the saloon, there are plenty of pre-lci 330i's kicking about so he might as well go for one of those.

LOL The corsa or the 5 series?

The 5.

I would say a 325 would be a good shout. They sold more than the 330i (which means they're much more easily availiable), don't have all the problems that the 335i does, and still have a nice 3 litre, 6 cyl engine that is easily powerful enough for everyday driving.

Seems he has grown out of the sort of thing the Corsa supplies really, so the 325i seems a good bet (if they are £15k). :)

I don't know about the OP, but spunking 15k on a car that is slower than my last car would be a no go.

It would have to be the 330 or 335 IMO.

I believe the 335s have just creeped in to his budget, too (albeit in SE trim).

Look its not an image I want anymore. Sick and tired of people eggin me on to boot it all the time.

I like VXRs but you try driving around in one... People constantly think youre up for a race.... It was cool at first but now I just want to relax behind the wheel.

If I were rich enough I'd have a laid back saloon along with something similar to the corsa... Sadly Im not rich at the moment lol.

Indeed, but I was unsure as to the current cost of the 325i and the 330i, hence the brackets. As the 330i seems to be in the right price bracket though, does seem worth while.

But then there are the issues of big bills being thrown up with how complicated modern cars are aren't there? Which means warranty should be sought but for the most part (Unless he went BMW AUC) the warranty would be worthless.
