BRAND NEW!!! And it's all mine!

Wow, this blew up like a mother ****er.
Yeah, its a salary sacrifice seal with the NHS, an all inclusive thing where I get a fixed amount removed from my salary before tax.
When you factor in fuel costs compared to my previous vehicle (a 1994 2l passat - a right pig of a car) I break even but dont have to worry about MOT every year :D Which when youre GF is at uni, and youre the main bread winner on a staff nurse wage is priority 1, Ive spent many a february on my back with a MIG by my side :(

And to all those preaching Beemer/Mondeo love - You fuel it then ;)

I get all the good bits of owning a new motor with none of the depreciation woes.

And to those who got upset becuase I put 'BRAND NEW'...
Do I detect jealousy? Grow up- Ive never even sat in a car this new, let alone been given the keys to it for 3 years. And I aint a rich man, so I will probably never own another new car again in my life.

As the pics from the internetz say
Haters gonna hate

Bashing Vauxhalls has become a parody of itself here. If you mention it the same people jump straight in with the usual rubbish they seem to almost copy and paste from every other anti-vauxhall post they rant.

Or maybe it's because generally speaking, Vauxhall are very good at churning out dull cars that don't quite cut the mustard against the opposition.

OP, salary based scheme sounds a good idea, what happens if you quit or get fired? Do you just give the car back? And what if you decide you no longer want it, do you give it back and revert to your pre-car salary?

Thats a neat tyre pump. Never seen those built in before. Great thinking.

car comes without a spare wheel, instead comes with can of tyre seal, and has the built in compressor hose with a digital guage so you set the pressure and just leave it for a minute. Indeed its neat and saves a call out if you get a puncture somewere remote.

So how much does it cost you per month? Do you pay for your own insurance? I'm asking out of interest, not to pick apart the numbers btw.

£280 all inclusive with tax, insurance, breakdown recovery and 'reasonable' tyre replacement. And obv.- all warranty servicing.

Dont know if I mentioned, but Im a staff nurse, which I regard as a position of trust and I hold deep respect for my profession, firing is not likely.
I can quit my current job and move, but as long as I stay withing the NHS I can keep it.
Im contractually tied for 3 years, which is no biggy, its the same term for a loan on a used car if I went down that road.

There are some right choppers on this forum, people are critical of everything on motors.

Seriously, I'm going to rage soon. Only ONE person has been super-critical of the OP's car!

That said £280 a month seems.. a lot? I guess it does include insurance, which if the OP is quite young will have been quite expensive.

Honestly, we all make a proper effort to be more fluffy and nice and still we get people whose only real contribution in this forum is to get offended on behalf of people who dont care and complain about how everything is about pimping BMW's and Mondeos.

Wow, that feels better. Thanks Mark :D

Maybe your reputation proceeds you? I have no doubt that if the BMW/Mondeo stuff hadn't been bought up the OP would have been interrogated and we'd know everything about him including his inside leg measurements by now :p
