BRAND NEW!!! And it's all mine!

Maybe your reputation proceeds you? I have no doubt that if the BMW/Mondeo stuff hadn't been bought up the OP would have been interrogated and we'd know everything about him including his inside leg measurements by now :p

My first post in this thread was before any of the smart OMG IGNORE THE USUALS LOL comments were posted. If I was going to be hypercritical I'd have already done so in my first post.

I dont think I have ever in my history of posting on this forum had a pop at a supermini buyer because they didnt buy an enormous BMW. You are right, my reputation proceeds me but quite why I have a reputation for pushing BMW's onto everyone I've no idea - I probably spend most of my time posting cautionary tales of woe in threads where the OP specifically asks about a BMW...

That said I will admit that my eyebrows raised when he said it was almost 300 quid a month. But not because he should have bought a 15 year old E34 M5 instead.

We really don't need to have these stupid arguments in every thread. In this case, yet again the 'omg i cant beleive how horrid motors is' squad have derailed the thread. The reality of what happened here is that a single poster - I dont think he owns a BMW - went OTT with some rather daft hypercritical remarks about the car but that was pretty much it. I mean sure, there was no adoration, banners from the roof and requests for high res photos but really, I don't think the reaction to this thread was either:

a) Bad
b) Deserving of the usual suspects making a big thing about the fact that some people dont like Vauxhalls, when the people in question had mostly kept it quiet this time around.

I can't believe you bought this car, seriously, I have done some calculations and if you borrowed £30k and bought an M6 you would be paying back a tiny £166 a month if you take the 15 year repayment plan

so in short you get a BMW = win
you get performance = win
you get more money to fuel your car = win
you get OcUK fame, adoration and potential meet/meat touching = win
you dont have a vauxhall = win

to be quite honest I really can't see why everyone here doesnt own and drive at least three or four m6's

oh make sure you get your mum to insure it and make yourself a named driver that's much cheaper and fully supported here

.

Becuase you did used to push them in every thread, you did used to behave like everything without a BMW badge was worthless and you did speak like you know everything there is to know ever in the world about motoring.

You dont now, perhaps you have grown up a bit, perhaps you understand that peoples attitudes and the way they view cars are different.

If the Fox now spoke to the Fox of 24 months ago, he would cringe.

True to a certain extent but pushing BMW's has never been my thing - they are too much of a liability. I love them, I'm passionate about them but unless somebody indicates they specifically want one it isn't a car I'll usually recommend or have ever done so with any sort of regularity. I'm more than happy to talk for hours about them in threads dedicated to them, but surely thats fair enough.

Go back 5 years, mind, and you are spot on with me and Mondeos :D

Honestly, we all make a proper effort to be more fluffy and nice and still we get people whose only real contribution in this forum is to get offended on behalf of people who dont care and complain about how everything is about pimping BMW's and Mondeos.

Wow, that feels better. Thanks Mark :D

I would just like to point out that I noticed your general slightly less harsh posting and appreciate your will power :D

On to the Corsa its a lovely little motor for potting about in and looks good.

I call a vote to change thread title to "BRAND NEW!!! And it's all the NHS's?"

And I'd have a MK.7 Fiesta over a Corsa, learned to drive in a few Corsa's and wasn't really a fan.

i think it looks great. nice car op! reason i say this is because... i just bought one myself. :) not the same model though. i got the limited edition 1.2.

Everyone in this thread needs to calm down and grow up alittle. Their are deliberate trolls here mentioning Mondeos and BMWs which are a motors favourite choice.

Any more bickering will result in a ban, as this is a thread to talk about the guys new car not argue whether or not people dont like it because it isnt a BMW/mondeo etc.

Back on topic.

Looks nice in white, not been a massive fan of corsa's but even with that "eco" engine it will be faster than my ride :p lol

Limited edition?

yup.. it looks identical to the one in your signature in the middle. with the black rims and VXR styling. cant wait to get it. i got 3 grand off the asking price trading in a 2003 corsa (which had the engine light lit up on the dash, and the rev counter wasnt functioning). so it was pretty win win.
