It's worth bearing in mind that sunama does seem to deal only in numbers and statistics when it comes to F1.

He rarely looks past the raw numbers and will U-turn his opinions within a matter of weeks if the appropriate numbers happen to change.

And with regards to buying their way into F1: this has always been the case and is nothing new. In the past, the drivers who have entered F1 have always been (reasonably) well off and brought sponsors along with them. Motor racing is not a poor mans game. Hamilton was the exception.

Would you rather have Rubens in a seat, or someone who has never one a feeder championship or even any recent races? Half the guys in the Young Drivers test were relative unknowns, while the top end of the GP2 grid are fighting to be noticed.

I'm not disagreeing that Rubens would be filling a seat someone else might be able to get, I'm saying that Rubens being there is quite low on the list of barriers stopping young drivers getting into F1.

I'm looking it as £23.

Already have the Sky basic pack to get the cheap internet, but with a broken digibox. For taking the £10.25 a month HD sub I now get F1, a new Sky+ HD box and £100 of M&S vouchers to offset against the yearly cost.

If it goes full Sky Sports sub only in 2013 then I'll just cancel.
