Brazilian Grand Prix 2012, São Paulo - Race 20/20

1) Its not a "conspiracy"

2) You dont think Mercedes would be annoyed at one of their drivers giving away points to a rival team , which therefore could affect their income for the next season?

If MS was a back marker, he would be expected to do this.
If MS was out of the points, possibly frowned upon but at the end of the day makes no difference.
Giving away championship points to a rival

(even without considering the general "SPORTING" - implication of requirement to actually compete for every place - aspect)

Ah OK, sorry, my bad. I thought you were suggesting it was in Schumachers contract that he would let Seb past. Thought that was a bit odd :p. Sorry.

Pity you can't watch the Vettel inboard for the first 15 laps.

I'd like to see how many passes he made without someone pulling over or gifting a position. I suspect he made at least 5 passes because the other drivers moved over.

I hope I'm wrong.

There's footage of both HRTs moving over and at least one TR. There is prob more.

TERRIBLE image quality :D

Haven't taken any notice of this thread over the last few days but I assume the fact people are still mentioning the yellow flags means Vettel's being investigated by the FIA or is he still the triple world champion?

Just thinking about Dominicali for a sec here....
From the time he took over at Ferrari from Todt... this is now the 3rd time he has come close but no cigar in the WDC. 2008 with Massa. 2011 and 2012 with Alonso...

Hmm....

Nope, no investigation. FIA have said that the warnings Vettel passed were for slippery surfaces so no penalty for passing anyone as they weren't standard yellow flags.

Thanks. Couldn't see anything mentioned on Sky or the BBC but a few forums are still debating the flag so wasn't sure if there was something in it.

The results are official and no protests have been lodged, so the results will not change. The discussions will rumble on for months or even years though.

He's done a better job than Whitmarsh has at McLaren.

Stefano has managed to sign one of the best drivers on the grid and take the fight to Newey and Red Bull more than once. Whitmarsh has thrown away a season when they had arguably the best car and lost one of the best drivers on the grid.

And yet has not converted that into a WDC. Twice.

Not going to go into a debate about who had the best car on the grid because if we go through all the F1 threads this season, the answer to that question changed every couple of weeks.

Whitmarsh started one year later than Dominicali.

And the only year they realistically mounted a challenge was ironically this year.

Stefano had 3 chances, all blown. (2008, 2010 and 2012).

I am a Ferrari fan, and I am not saying Dominicali is bad, but playing the numbers game here, its not boding well for SD.

Maybe. It depends if you think coming so close and failing is better or worse than not being close enough.

And regardless of whether the McLaren was the best car, I think we would both agree its a car that was capable of winning the championship this year?

+1

Ferrari are only going forward... gained 1 of the 2 best drivers on the grid, Alonso.. Massa has found his Mojo and no breakdowns from what i can remember.

Mclaren... Lost 1 of the 2 best drivers on the grid, Hamilton... Button is only good when it rains... Perez is a noob and the wrong choice imo... Car is unreliable and the Pit team need to stop messing up the pit stops. Unless they pull a Honda/Brawn car, they are not going anywhere next season. If Ron was still about, Hammy would still be at Mclaren, no ifs or buts.

Well thats a different debate altogether isnt it :)

I think no one can disagree with that statement.

If Ferrari sort the wind tunnel over the winter then they can move forward, even if they just get closer in qual Alonso would take care of the rest :D
