Brazilian Grand Prix 2013, São Paulo - Race 19/19

In 2010, when Webber was winning races, I think he peaked and was "ok", but not great. Probably ranked just about in the top 10 on the grid.

After Vettel won his 1st title, though, Vettel moved ahead and left Webber behind. Also, Vettel's high intelligence allowed him to learn how to drive the car which used exhaust gases to give added downforce. Apparently, this method of driving is counter-intuitive, which is why Webber struggled, when RBR were using this technology. Vettel continues to improve over the years, which has brought us to today, where in the best car, is able to win 100% of races (not easy).

Personally, I'd love to see Vettel do what MSc did, ie. move to a team which hasnt won the title in over a decade and make them great. Until Vettel does this, I cant see how he can be ranked ahead of MSc.

Like when he joined us from STR you mean ;)

I've posted less for a while but depends on how the season goes and how much crap gets posted. Started following more technical sites as that's what interests me as much as the racing :)

This is interesting, details details details.

Just beware, its not as cheap as it might first seem. Sure tickets are like £20, but you still have to get there, stay, etc. And when you look at the actual Spanish GP in early May, its still pretty much out of the holiday season, so accommodation and flights are comparable to February.

I very nearly went to testing this year, but decided to go to the Spanish GP next year instead.

certainly cant afford the gp next year, i do need to do my scuba license. So maybe the money saved from doing that in Spain could offset the cost. Flights can usually be had for dirt cheap.

Whats the dates

Is the rain going to last until race day, or are we getting boring FP sessions and then a boring race due to no rain, and no one having set their car up to fight RB/SV?

Hopefully not, I've got bets on Alonso, Hamilton and Grosjean for exactly that reason. I'm seriously banking on the rain upsetting Vettel's advantage.

It was nice of Crofty to let us hear the V8s in P2 for a few laps - when Chilton and Kova were out. I did turn the TV up. So glad I went to Silverstone twice this year so that I had a chance to listen to them live as well - really will miss them. I can't think of a sound that comes close, such a unique texture of soundwaves :)

I do love this circuit, usually promotes a good race and it's a proper race track with changes in elevation. Shows you don't need a long track to make a good track too.

24 V8s at 18,000 RPM singing through the Belgium forests.

Best sound I've ever heard.

V10s and V12 were better. :p

Even the 2003 cars seem visibly quicker around a circuit than today's F1 spec (bear in mind this lap is with race fuel onboard).

It hadn't struck me previously, but looking back it's interesting how the cornering style has changed. Back then, they turned in early, carried quite a lot of mid-corner speed, and just let the traction control cope with the car from the apex to the corner exit.

Now, even with the dull torque of the V8s, they square off the corner for best traction and of course make use of the now epic braking.
