Tbf, the more important thing is perhaps the precedence, as someone mentioned. If nothing is done, you're open for it to happen again. If there's a penalty, even if it doesn't effect this race, it's still important for future races.

Why would you want a precedence? Each incident should be judged on its own. There's too many variables, track camber, temperature, different drivers, cars, tires etc.

Yeah its still a slam dunk to me, I was just giving an opinion on if max was pushing him off deliberately.

Max has got away with a lot this year, he has been aggressive against LeClerc recently as well.

I am also not sure why teams are allowed to lobby whilst an investigation is pending as well. The rules I think need changing on that, Red Bull were playing politics by saying it should be let got for the racing entertainment.

It needs banning using the radio comms to publicly argue a case to benefit your team, live, in the middle of a race. Karen likes the sound of his own voice and believes the more he talks (with seemingly anyone) it promotes the Redbull brand and gives him the opportunity to get his two pence worth in on everything, preferably before anyone else. We see this during races as he always talks to Sky. He always wants that opportunity to have a platform to argue anything in their favour.

Because a lack of consistency is the major problem with F1 stewarding.

The biggest issue by far. We go through phases where this kind of move is fine, then they decide to police it to the letter (arguable over police it) and they switch between the two states randomly and without warning. It’s frustrating.

Anyone remember when they started policing this and then leclerc shoved Hamilton off at monza and they decide to just wave a few flags (wouldn’t dare anger the Ferrari lot on home ground) - wasn’t that also around the time when vettel got penalised, the race before?

I was talking to one of my colleagues last week about how F1 is becoming like WWE. After this weekend we both laughed about it, it get’s more and more ridiculous.

For somethings sure, like touching another car or taking a seat belt on, to use couple of examples from this weekend, but in situation like this when there are so many variables in place then I don't see an issue. I'd rather it being judged individually rather than based on what happened on another day at another track between different drivers. Let the stewards look at it and make their decision. Lot of you ridiculed, rightly so, RB's reconstruction of Silverstone incident because it was different day and different driver etc but here you are asking for pretty much the same thing.

Anyway Merc have appealed so we'll see what happens but the moaning here is ridiculous. Some of you call Horner a Karen and Max a Maxine while not behaving any better than them.

The "moaning here" is because a driver clearly attempted to gain an advantage by driving another driver off the road.
The new footage is new evidence that was not available to them at the time, so the appeal is legitimate. Not like the very odd attempt of RB to "recreate" the circumstances of an incident on another day with a different driver.
If you can't see the difference, you are really way off base..

Agreed. Unbelievable they decided to not investigate without this key bit of footage and just having a chat with Horner.

It’s because they want Max to win the WDC
They never wanted Hamilton to win the title.

They have done soo much to try and stop Hamilton from winning titles.

I remember after he won his first title, the following season they made a rule where 1st place gets like 20 extra points in the last race LOL and that was purely because Hamilton won the title by finishing 5th or 4th was it vs massa finishing 1st and being beaten by a point or two?

FIA simply hate Hamilton and so do other people and I don’t think its because of the way he dresses.. i wont say why i think of the reason for fear of stirring something here but you can all guess it really easily anyway..

I agree with you, for the last 10 years he hasn’t got anywhere near the credit he deserves, I firmly believe in 10 years time he will be remembered as the greatest driver as all time , to your last point the the FIA are now starting to look more and more like the Yorkshire cricket club(if you get where I’m going with it )

Sad to say I agree

I don't think it's down to Hamilton being half black. It's about Hamilton and Mercedes dominating the wins and championships. The FIA think that by making the race results closer and mixed between teams, then F1 becomes more exciting for consumers to watch. The FIA don't want people to look back and see Mercedes and Hamilton winning year after year.

Ironically, the FIA always change the rules just as all the teams catch up after a period of stability, ensuring that only the biggest teams with the most resources can adjust to those rules quickly. This way the dominance of a new set of rules will always favour big teams, especially with the lack of in season development.

Like with Brawn?:p But yeah I get your point.

The budget cap is supposed to sort that out.
