There's that OcUK Motorsport Forum sense of grievance resurfacing again...not enough rolleyes emojis in the world :p:D

To be fair they do like to punish a lot with everyone but I think Lewis more. I have disliked F1 stewarding since watching them punish Montoya for an "aggressive" overtake on Barrichello in USA 2003, which was Ferrari-inspired and cost him a win that could have seen title go to him ultimately.. (or not)...

I'd rather stewards were less intrusive

If they punt Lewis to the back of the grid then I hope Merc take an extra 3 engines just to have a bank of fresh units going in to the final 3 races.

So about 20-30 minutes to fit the wing, don't know if it'll be a new one or the original one....

Also all the Parc ferme regs they've fot to get through with the FIA to do it.

I think at this point, if it were me. I would have hit the "Sod it. We're fitting a new wing of the same spec"

They’re allowed to change parts under parc ferme (if there’s an issue) as long as it’s a spec they’ve run in another race/practice session.

The FIA will retain the old part though.

In Parc ferme, a failed or broken part has to be replaced with the same spec part. If that can't be done then its referred to the stewards for penalty.

Surely it’s less about the impact but more about MAx breached the rules? Same as Hamilton I doubt a MM of extra DRS would make a difference but he has still breached the rules.

As Irishtom said common sense would say no further action for the good of the sport and competition. I doubt that will happen, Lewis to the back and MAx a slap on the wrist would be my guess.

Not sure why you quoted me, as I've said Max or Lewis shouldn't/wouldn't be punished.

You mean the 'overtake' where he basically drilled Rubens in the side, then got a penalty for doing so when the rain hit, decided to serve the penalty before the required tyre change for some bizarre reason, and compounded that mistake by putting entirely the wrong kind of wet weather tyre on?

Would that be the 'overtake'? ;)

So there is a 10nm load element as well which it may have passed on. Oh dear, the fia are good at tying themselves in knots.
So presumably the thing was below 85mm but needed less than 10Nm to open up. It could be said to have weakened then during qualifying.
