Break checked and crashed

yes the video has a 50 sign, with something beneath it - is that designated for the exit exclusively, the sign is way back from road edge too (too far?)
with the video police+insurance could calculate their speed with 2m / 9m period on the lane and exit markings respectively.
It's clearly a 50mph sign with the speed camera icon under it, as on pretty much every temporary speed limit sign you see on a motorway, everywhere.

I'm guessing from the fact you didn't recognise it, and your other statements about 'flashing brakes to wake people up', that you're either not a driver or a very inexperienced one. Then it would make sense why you think the Audi is in any way at fault for this stupidity.

it, shows the following driver you are not a doddery idiot who shouldn't have a license, drifting along, so they become more alert,
yes, might make them think you have the intention of brake checking them, but they will need to make a choice on how to respond, & you have a chance avoiding destiny.

You should strongly consider returning your driving licence to Kellogs.

That whole section is clearly speed restricted - and even without the speed limit signage, there is a general expectation that speeds are reduced through road works on motorways, which with the concrete barrier on the left, the yellow temporary signage and the cones clearly indicate is the case. Further, there's a clearly operational SPECS average speed camera there. How you can continue to advocate on behalf of the OP in the face of overwhelming evidence is beyond me!

if it is a troll he didn't embellish it with obvious tells like the other emergency breaking thread.

they remove stuff over the holidays - plus no one seemed to have said yes I recognise that junction, or that's my car - my comments that the guy braked sharply aren't exclusive;
but yes, we need a tell-all from the OP - so many unanswered questions - why did he swerve right -

dam they still do free gifts in Kellogs' ? Aldi's version don't seem to give out driving licenses

What on earth? So many things wrong with that video. As you're viewing it and seeing the brake lights come on the Audi, you're wondering when the OPs car is going to start slowing down but then he does the unimaginable and tries to go for the overtake. I'm assuming the Audi increased its speed during the overtake, which is why the OP veered back to the right?

Does the OP drive an automatic and forgot which pedal was brake vs accelerate? Can only assume that's the case as there were so many opportunities to brake!

Surely the only reason he 'chose' to hit the barrier was because Audi to the left, cars/trucks etc to the right...

It's like braking just wasn't an option... Thou shall not brake :p

Looking at the gif (as the vid is private) does it look like the OP flashes his main beams as they pull in behind?

Either way, yeah proper poor driving that was.

he does. If you watch it at 0.25 speed he full beams the Audi before the Audi brakes. but as others have pointing it, unless the Audi driver had reactions of a F1 driver, its unlikely he braked in response, more likely he was already going to brake and the OP got his full beam in first.
