Break checked and crashed

do you not think dabbing the brakes is going to be antagonistic to someone tailgating you??
it, shows the following driver you are not a doddery idiot who shouldn't have a license, drifting along, so they become more alert,
yes, might make them think you have the intention of brake checking them, but they will need to make a choice on how to respond, & you have a chance avoiding destiny.

Highly unlikely since they were already in a 50mph speed camera monitored zone.
yes the video has a 50 sign, with something beneath it - is that designated for the exit exclusively, the sign is way back from road edge too (too far?)
with the video police+insurance could calculate their speed with 2m / 9m period on the lane and exit markings respectively.

Clearly the fault of the driver, that isnt being brake checked, that video shows you charging up into the rear of someone slowing for a junction and then losing it instead of hitting them.

However, your insurance should pay for the repair regardless - it doesnt matter whether it was your fault or not - why the worry about that?

nonsense. how does you tapping the brake peddle tell the person behind anything of the sort. so you're saying that if i'm tailing you and you dab the brakes that automatically alerts me that you're a clever, sensible driver fully in control of their faculties and that you will be braking for real very soon?
i've seen some utter crap posted before but that's right up there.

Think he's updated the first post

I think he's done a post and run. Says his last active time was the same time as the post.

As the forums are public, i guess he can see the opinion without needing to log back in - probably the reason he's now removed the video from youtube.

I think the worry was more about the insurance company finding him at fault rather than the Audi driver and him losing X no claims / increase in premiums. I'm guessing he would have been doing at least 30/40mph when he backed out of trying to take the junction and it doesn't look like he had the time to brake before ploughing into that temporary barrier. I'm sure his car will be a write off.

 I didn't even realise it was the solid barrier he hit when I watched it last night...thought it was just the cones and the beacons that got it!

Insurer may not cover the cost to repair the barrier either if at fault. People have gone in to lamp posts and then got a massive bill from the council later on. If they can force someone to pay it though who knows.

I can only assume the OP had some road rage going on there, as that's the only explanation for such dumb driving. Can't control the car, can't navigate the road, can't deal with other traffic. He didn't leave enough space, so he had no thinking or reaction time. Short of having a stroke or some other medical emergency, there's no excuse.
