Angle grinders seem to get through pretty much anything. Locksmith is a better idea, but not as likely to set the carpet alight therefore less fun.

Oxyacetylene might not be successful, but would be far more fun than an angle grinder...

As has been said, in this situation you dont cut the lock, but the bar its attached to instead.
Its a lot easier.

Freeze some shaving foam overnight. Then cut it open and try to force as much of it as you can into the keyhole. Wait half an hour and it will expand to a hundred times its original size, exploding the lock in the process.

Angle grinder or a big breaker bar. Either will make short work of that poxy padlock.

Extra points if while using the angle grinder you manage to:

a) Seriously injure yourself
b) Seriously injure someone else
c) Set fire to the office
d) Despite all of the above still fail to get the padlock off.

Best not to attack the lock itself as has been said many times.

You got the lines wrong, you put two instead of one, and you got it 90 degrees in the wrong orientation.

(cut the brass coloured rod that the lock is attached to)
