I dont get why we choose a side and make a charcter when half the bloody time your playing on the opposite faction and I can only guess a random avatar :confused:

I know you still get exp etc, but a bit stupid if you play as a random half the time!
 
I think there's probably loads of people still getting used to the game, in particular the maps and their layouts, what guns do what, the objectives you need to do. When everyone gets a bit more settled we should see much more effective team play in randoms. Although there probably is still a fair share of Rambo's who know what to do but want to just ignore that and kill people :P

You can customize the avatar for both factions. Just go into the customization menu and in the top right corner you can switch sides.

edit: Even though I like the customization options.. the customization is a bit useless feature in a first person shooter.

It's normally pretty easy to work out after you play the maps a few times though.

Yea theres been a few games like that where ive defended the place and the time has ran out without the opposistion taking it and yet we had failed the misson, left me confused :confused:
 
I just played through the first campaign map and no other players joined me, played with bots the whole way through. Tried the server browser and no servers show up. What's up?
 
Having played for 6 hours, I can now say without any doubt that all the naysayers have got this game totally wrong. Brink is amazing.
 
So glad I didn't pre-order this now!

I was so hyped about this game a few weeks ago but the latest videos looked like it was created with consoles in mind and meant to be played with a controller and now this whole **** up with Steam and "9/10" servers not working.. yeah I think I have had a lucky escape.

I'll stick to global agenda, thanks!

And as someone mentioned above.. what is the point of customisation of your character if you don't get to see your character because it's a FPS... the only people that see it are other people?

If it was a 3PS then it would make more sense!

Okay, then yeah your game is a bit buggered. Some people renamed their folders and had a huge update because they had to re-download all the opening movies etc again.
 
My game comes up with the "Brink" logo, then crashes to desktop now. Whilst leaving me with an annoying noise, like a power generator. W.t.f.'s going on here then? :D

*Edit. lol Tried to load it again with the noise still going, got to the "Brink" logo again and crash. Only now I have two lots of the annoying sound going. :D
