**British Armed Forces Discussion Thread**

Bit of drill at the weekend just gone. Awesome.

If it was hot, it wouldn't have been as much as a laugh as it ended up :D.
Good effort, look at the discipline!
what was the occasion?

The discipline was wavering at that point a bit, as we'd been marching for almost 40 minutes with rifles, with it raining for about 30 minutes. It was pretty incredible though. What was even better was when we fell out, the rain literally fell out at the same time, and out came the sun. It couldn't have been timed better!

We'd been given the Freedom of Herford, and it coincided with a big local festival that was on, so it was a cracking day. Finished drill, got on a coach back to camp, changed, then back out to enjoy the local breweries beer.

Hi guys, basic enough question - I've been looking at various career changes and the armed forces is something I've considered a fair amount. I'd look to go straight in as an officer due to my comp sci degree. If you're signing up, is there any remote possibility to control where you're placed from the beginning?

You request counties and they generally try to get you in that county - or as close as possible IF THEY CAN.

I asked for anywhere down south for my first posting and was posted to Kinloss.... :)

Well there's £200 worth of leave travel tickets down the drain eh.

Been spanned for working for G4S?

So glad I'm already on leave, and I'm not answering any calls from a number I don't recognise, or from someone from work who I'm not expecting to call lol.

Course there is = you come from the right Public School and everything can be arranged suitably-you see of prime importance it has to be known that you know from whence you start using the table gear. In other words you are one of us as against one a them!

Thanks to G4S it looks like my Summer Holidays are screwed.

Being in the military is a pain in the backside at times.

200 people being called up from my Regt at the moment.

Already on leave, but as a precaution, Facebook chat has been turned off, I won't be posting anything thing on there showing activity, I've got call barring enabled on all incoming calls, I can make outgoing calls still.

These are desperate times! I'm due to go to Las Vegas mid next week, so I'm not leaving anything to chance!

My mate confirmed he was going to his Wifes baby scan next week.. got told to expect not to be there..

Another was told he should have travel insurance on his 3grand Cancun holiday.

Absolute joke how they run things.
