I just can't believe they can't find these extra 3500 troops from people who haven't already got plans confirmed, such as holidays etc.

We've got back from Afghan in the past 2 months, and already this has been thrown at us. Talk about sapping what little moral people have left in the forces.

Well chances are you might get some leeway by having a holiday booked, but its really not fair. I had plans of getting a last minute deal or similar. Means I have no excuse to get out of things.

I suppose they have to get numbers somewhere, and I accept it, but Im gonna be moaning about it all the while lol

But yes, I know they have to get numbers from somewhere, but I try and think how many biffs will be off it, because they're not MFD, so unable to search people or vehicles etc.

This is being classed as a deployment . Could you imagine it was like Afghan though, and dry rules. I think there would be riots.

My units had a request to provide - we're currently deployed in Afghan, do they think we can just send our injured lads in Queen Elizabeth hospital to do it?

i dont know how its working in the olympic village but where i'm going its 12 on, 12 off, and one in every 5 days off, also 2 can rule from what i've heard and you get breathalysed before starting every shift, if you screw up its RTU and a WORLD OF HURT!!!

not sure about the monkeys, mainly arty blokes down where i'm going, but unfortunately thats not not hear say, thats gen, most are saying after those 2 cans they just want to get there heads down, long days!

Yeah mate Im at Cosford now..

Its looking like we are sending 600 people from 23rd of this month to 20th of next month. That runs over the complete length of our planned leave.

Course will have to be extended, I shall be putting in a service complaint to ensure I lose no money due to delayed promotion. Lads on my course with holidays booked have all been told by the FltSgt they are pretty much screwed.
