~Update~

Well after passing my interview and BARB Test, the careers person wants me to do my ADSC mid september and start phase 1 basic training in october:)

Im really looking forward to it now as its getting closer, ive been getting myself fit since november and its paid off now as i really think im physically ready for it now:)

Lol, ive just checked on google maps, and I walk 1.6 miles in 12 minutes every morning walking to work after getting off the train, and half of that is up hill. Is it really 1.5 miles in 12 minutes on the flat? Surely that's well easy.

I would love to see someone walking down the street at that pace:p

I consider myself quite fit, I weightlift 3/4 times per week, twice a week Aikido and cycle weekly (did 145 mile in a coast to coast bikeride 2 months ago). I'm 6"1' so my strides are quite long but I still have to push myself to get sub 11 minute times on my 1.5 miler. I have what I consider a jog, a run and a sprint, and what I do to achieve 11 minutes is a constant speed between a run and a sprint.

Granted I do neglect running, it's my calves/hamstrings that give up long before my lungs do but my general fitness is quite high and I recover quickly.

Then again I may not be running 1.5 mile, google maps hasn't updated with the road I run along, and the milometer on my car isn't accurate enough as the road bends around the path I run on

I smell BS, I run quite regularly and at a slow easy pace I do 1.5miles in 11 mins, no way 1.6 miles in 12 mins is walking pace. Either you’re looking at the map wrong, googlemaps is screwed or you’re lying.

I can do 1.5 miles in just over 9mins, been in training for the police, first day tomorrow

I walk the exact same distance from the train every morning and it takes me 25 minutes. I doubt I could walk it in only 12.

I've got my RAF interview in 2 days for a scholarship as a Pilot through college, is there anything I particularly need to know about or would help to know?

I hope you have done some revising about bases/planes etc, although as its for a scolarship im unsure what they will as you
