British Grand Prix 2010, Silverstone Circuit - Race 10/19

Yup, feeling a bit deflated after hearing their new parts aren't quite up to scratch.

The new parts are up to scratch. Trust me they are. The problem is that when you make such big changes, the balance of the car changes and it takes time to learn how to get the best out of the (new) car. Given that they've only had a few hours to dial in the set-up, it was always asking too much for the new parts to perform optimally, fromt he get-go.

Usually it takes 1-2 races for teams to get the most out of their new (major) upgrade, so I have no doubt that in the next race, they will be running with the new (big) update.

I think F1 fans expect miracles from engineers. For a (major) new revision to perform optimally, straight out of the box, without any testing, is almost impossible, as we have seen throughout this year, when teams introduce a big revision.

we are still use to testing, when parts could be fitted and working correctly.

Bring back testing. At least have testing say on Thursday or monday after every other race or something. cars/personnel are already there and they can sell tickets to make a bit of cash.

All it achieves is stunting development and gives those with the performance advantage a better shot at the title.

What is interesting is that RedBull have given Webber, the chassis which Vettel rejected earlier this year, after the team felt that the chassis was defective.

I'm wondering that if it had been Vettel who needed a new chassis, would RedBull have manufactured a new chassis or given him the "rejected" chassis.

Its not as if you can just build a new chassis in that short an amount of time. Webber said it was the only chassis available.

I think that's reading too much into a total non-event tbh.

shut up eddie, it is not teh best thing they do, wow you get a bit of excitement from little niggles and artificial racing. But no real racing.
