British Grand Prix 2011, Silverstone Circuit - Race 9/19

your happy with the rest of it then ;)

Yeah, pretty much. Renault engines in front of Mercedes engines in front of Ferrari engines with Cosworth at the back.

I think this is the first time ever I have actually felt sorry for Ferrari. They are being completely screwed by this.

You could hear some of the engines still having a lot of run off, during off throttle. The Williams however was the noisiest engine there today! Followed by Renault with the different exhaust layout.

Is there no chance that the FIA will reverse the decision and not favour Red Bull

The only other decision seems to be to just not impliment the ban, meaning we will be back to as we have been all season.

The situation as it stands now however is worse than before.

Looks bad for the FIA but it kind of makes sense.

Mercedes engines still take in fuel when the driver is not on the throttle. This helps cool the valves and such.

The Renualt engine does not take in any fuel at all when the driver is off the throttle. In order to get fuel into the engine to help cool it 50% throttle is applied.

Basically the Teams with Renualt engines would most likely DNF due to blown engines if they couldn't run a higher % of throttle.

That's the FIA fault again for freezing the engine regs, which means there is no way for renualt to change this.

What an absolute farce.

They should just scrap the ban all together, go back to how it was for the first half of the season and sort it all out when this season ends.

autosport are claiming ferrari and mercedes were running there engines with 50% blow during FP2, wonder if they will do it for the whole weekend if it was true

At least Schumacher will get a podium now! :o

This is a joke. Just when Red Bulls advantage looked to be cut back, the FIA go and bend over and take a load from Horner and co. and end up pushing things the opposite way.

I'm astounded theyve done this during a practice session tbh.

It's clear that Red Bull have developed a car that relies heavily on the Exhaust Blown Defuser, it's no wonder they don't want it banned!

Their aero advantage from it seems huge, so instead of the FIA deciding to restrict them, they're letting them go? Crazy.

Yeh that must be it, not like the FIA did anything when Ferrari and McLaren were crying about our wing or blown diffuser....oh wait...

There is always more going on behind the scenes, trust me.

If it's true that RBR are running at 45% and are now allowed 50%, I really hope they up it to show quite how much a bunch of mugs the FIA look now.

The situation is annoying, teams admitting defeat and handing the victory to red bull, or put in a position where they cannot win because of rule changes, either way, a victory by red bull may seem a little hollow.
