Sorry if this is a silly question (I don't normally watch quali), but why are they in the pits? Surely they should be out on the track trying to set the fastest lap?

Interesting that Hamiltons lap was on used tyres. Hopefully he'll get a better one on new tyres before the rain comes too hard

Limited tyres and timing the laps for best traffic/track conditions.

This whole quali has been a bit of a let down, "anti-climax" sums it up perfectly.
Hopefully the race gives us something to watch.

Ferraris are only a smudge behind RBR now. Now if RBR are like normal and fall back in the race. Then Ferrari could easily win tomorrow.

Is the speculation that OTBD was benefitting Vettle more than webber true? Are we now going to see a much much closer gap between them. Or is it just that webber loves this track.

Mclaren have seemingly fallen of the ledge, what's happened there. Seems there OTBD was in fact very good and one of there biggest parts.

Secondary effect makes no differenc. Either it is movable aero or not. It clearly isn't and hasn't been for the last 18months. If it's movable aero the whole lot should be banned.
And if your saying secondary is ok, then 50% off throttle is fine as that to do with engine cooling and engine breaking, which is it's main use as proved by the engine maps.

Exactly, they dont need to do this with a computer map, they have 2 pedal cars, they can just cut ignition/fuel with a switch and operate the throttle pedal with one foot while they left foot brake, then they can have as much airflow as they want.

Anyway all that QQ from RBR seems to have been a smokescreen, 1st and 2nd again and Mclaren look to be worse off overall.

McLaren must be rueing sending Hamilton out on used tyres for his first run when it was actually dry.
