British Grand Prix 2011, Silverstone Circuit - Race 9/19

I was desperately hoping someone was standing nearby with a custard pie when Ted had Christian Horner on camera earlier. So disappointing.

And while I'm in bile-dispensing mood - McLaren. What the **** is wrong with you?! You announce to the world what your pit strategy is...
I thought all pit-to-car radio was potentially public, it's just down to the FIAtv goons to decide what gets played out to the public - and hence the other teams?

Edit: Yup, all public: http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/23951.html

I don't see the point in a drivers championship, they might as well turn it into a team championship & get rid of drivers championship completely if they are going to keep team orders.

Webber is in a position to challenge Vettel (i know he's not that great of a driver) & He's had that taken away.

Well to be fair, the only people who care about the Drivers Championship are the drivers and Joe Public. Its a team sport, nobody give a flying **** if Wayne Rooney gets the golden boot if Man Utd lose the league.

Has is, please send me the team debriefs for the last 5 years that you clearly have in your posession.

You've got to admit mate, looking at the RBR team situation from the outside it does look for all the world like team orders are firmly in place at Red Bull and are clearly favouring Vettel.

In fairness, if we (the Joe Public) didn't watch F1, the sponsors wouldn't be in and F1 wouldn't exist as it is today.

I understand the teams perspective that they need both drivers to stay on track but I'm only watching it to see people drive and overtake if they can. It's depressing hearing team-bosses slowing people down on purpose just incase.

Sorry im sure your post said its always been like that at RB, must have read it weong.

According to Webber today it has been...

willbuxton : Asked Webber about the irony of Horner's 2010 protestation that he'd never use team orders. "I think they were used last year, mate."

Pretty damning.

This tbh.

I can understand WHY team orders are used, but that doesn't mean I like it.

Looks like the OTBD row is over, with Ferrari now agreeing to return things to the way they were before this weekend according to Andrew Benson's Twitter.

Interesting race, gutted for Button.

Did anyone else see one of the Mclaren crew waving bye-bye to the lolipop man after they realised it was his fault for letting Button go? Looks like he's out of a job!

You make a decision based on the drivers standings after a few races. Mark has the same car as Seb and his side of the garage get to set it up exactly as Mark wants it,fact is, Seb has dominated Mark in the 1st part of the season as the points show. A decision has to be taken wether people like it or not as to what the orders will be for the race given a circumstance like today. If Mark had a commanding lead over Seb then it would have been reversed. All teams do it, dont sit there making out you think it dont happen.

I see, so weve gone from "always been like that at RB" to "today" Enough said really, join the ranks of Arknor on the ignore list. If your going to make a statement back it up with fact!

Woah, cool your jets bud. I'm fully aware that teams will always favour the guy racking up the points, even at the expense of the 'show'. But Horner has said in the past that he wouldn't use team orders - and then he uses them today and makes a pretty weak defence of it on camera (come on, if Ted bloody Kravitz has you on the ropes then you've really buggered something up!). You've got to be able to understand why that might just grate with a few people? :)

Good show, Thank god Lewis managed to scrape that 4th place and there was no stewards decision needed after.

How can Vettel lose this now? Even on a bad day he comes 2nd, The reliability of the cars this year is very surprising to me. None of the top teams seem to be having issues yet really. Unlike before where you could bet some of them would be DNF from some failure.
