British Grand Prix 2011, Silverstone Circuit - Race 9/19

I see, so weve gone from "always been like that at RB" to "today" Enough said really, join the ranks of Arknor on the ignore list. If your going to make a statement back it up with fact!

Easier to ignore someone when they don't agree with you isn't it.

Fact is, Webber has said it has been like that since last year. So...

My "today" comment was the fact that he SAID it TODAY. Geez.

And yes, all teams do it. But it was RB who did it today. When another teams does it, I will be the first to call them on it.

Don't know why you are taking it so personally tbh! (Apart from the obvious "I work at RB issue") :p

I think the point of contention here is Horner is actually trying to make it seem like it wasnt a team order. All this squirming around is not good to watch.

On another point. We've seen in races gone by how seb bolts into the distance then maintains the gap. On several occasions in this race mark started to reel him in towards the end of the stint, especially at the end of this race. Knowing mark has had tyre management issues, would I be right in thinking, mark is now going, perhaps a little to easy on his tyres during the stint, which gives him more life towards the end? If RB are going to shut the door on swaping places in the last, say 10% of the race then Mark absolutley must chase vettel down as soon as he gets onto the new rubber.

Go on Mark son, take that golden boy down.

lol indeed he doesnt like it when someone disagrees with him i suspect because he works at redbull he believes his opinion is worth more than just someone who is a fan of the sport.

he genuinely seemed to believe i hated him or redbull because i didnt agree with some things he/horner had said which imo is a bit disapointing

Seems he has taken the same stance with me.

I can understand the loyalty to RB, but it is important to get the fans onside too. This is something RB fails to do time after time.

The only thing I like about RB anymore is Newey - the guy is a genius. The rest are arrogant beyond belief. A shame too, RB used to be such a friendly and accessible team.

Winning the championship has gone to their heads, but it won't last forever.

More fool Mark for playing ball.

He looked like he had a sure pass on the final lap, and started on pole.. I'd have had to have died before I gave up that position with a pointless team order. I don't buy Horners "best result for the team".. Errr.. They would have finished 2nd and 3rd whichever way round they finished :/

Schumacher could have fought for 5th, had he not had the stop/go and front wing incidents.

Red bull have been bellends since the start of the 2010 season. They still rimmed vettel then, even when Webber was ahead in the championship.

Yes most teams have a number 1 driver but red bull is ridiculous with there's and you really have to feel for mark. Hope he goes to another team next year what will treat him as a racing driver and not a puppet.

He should have took 2nd place from vettel and tell horner to **** right off, once horner as finished hanging off the end of vettel.

Has there been a race this season when Schumacher hasn't lost his front wing in silly contact? Canada perhaps.

you could ask if theres been a race where hamilton hasnt been involved in a similar incident atleast once.

schumacher gets a hard time of it and the bbc give a bad impression with the atitude they take anytime schumacher has an incident they jump on him straight away as the car started to slide "is this more sloppy driving from schumacher"

if its lewis "OMG OMG CUM IN MY PANTS PASS ME THE TISSUES , THIS IS WHY WE LOVE LEWIS"

schumacher deserved a reprimand at best for todays incident, lewis does the same stuff all the time and generally gets away with it like today when he slided into massa and you could see the ferrari slide to the outside of the track from the force of the mclaren pushing against it.

imo a racing incident no punish needed but if it were schumacher we know what the reaction would have been.

Actually I'm suprised how complimentary DC is of Schumacher on the whole, given their numerous incidents in the past. I think MSC is driving quite well but he's sabotaging his own races by losing his wings all the time.

I think that's just commentators etiquette, I bet he hates his guts really :p I heard someone say something about how many times MSC has lost a front wing this season, has he done it every race this year? I can't recall from memory but I bet its close!

I strongly feel team orders detract from the sport. Drivers are there to race, and race they should till the chequered flag. That's what the fans want and its obviously what makes for the best entertainment.

Horner makes me angry with all his squirming and sidetracking.

If I was Webber i'd just stop bothering, see how the TEAM get on in the constructors championship when he finishes in 11th place every race.

I'm catching up as I was out earlier but nice to see Stefano Domenicali saying the Hamilton Massa incident was just a racing incident and he saw nothing wrong with it :)

Team orders are allowed so I haven't got an issue with it. It is a team sport. It's just funny watching horner squirm. Then after 10mins figuring out what he should have said. just say they are allowed to fight untill the last pit stop/ last few laps then it's team orders. Why did he struggle saying that. Probably as he tries hard to say everything's equal.
As DC said if you aren't happy with the team leave. Trouble is hes still in the best car with no options.
Ferrari he would be a number two. Mclaren aren't going to change their line up. Which ever team can build a winning car.

i think hes lost a wing in 3 races ? its definetly nowhere near every race

Mark has the same car as Seb and his side of the garage get to set it up exactly as Mark wants it

The question is though was the car inherently designed in a way that favours how Vettel prefers it to behave rather than Webber (no two designs will behave the same even given infinite about of setup time)

I was wondering the same about Ferrari this year, surely it's easier to focus the cars handling on one drivers style (be it Alonso or Schumacher of old) than it is to compromise to keep both drivers happy?

From Alonso's result today and the success Schumacher had in his day you'd have to say it's a very good idea.
