Seriously if Bottas gets by, once he gets a second ahead Hamilton will get Massa as well. Bottas is getting great traction out onto the DRS straights which is why Hamilton can't get Bottas. Massa is slower out of these corners, Hamilton would get him pretty quickly.

Bottas being faster is protecting Williams and keeping two an extra car between Hamilton and the front.

If Bottas passes, Hamilton would get Massa within a couple of laps and gain on Bottas, meaning one car to pass with the under cut instead of two.

Williams have forced Mercedes into a two stop, it will probably lead to an easy victory but you never know what might happen. If Hamilton had a single car to pass which is what would have happened if Bottas passed Massa, then they would stay on the one stop and try the undercut AND almost certainly get it.
