edit: Actually probably wasnt them. They were doing double yellow. But quickly turned red.

No they waved yellows first, then red once race control told them too, but was only five or ten seconds or between them.

He told marshals to leave his car alone as he would be coming back to take it to the pits, after he checked on Zhou.

He checked on Zhou returned to his car, amd marshals were already involved in moving it.

There is rain in the area on the weather radar, but doubtful it would be enough to make any significant impact if it does hit the track.

Don't think Russell has the authority to make decisions for the marshals.

Not much to lose I guess. Usually starting on soft seems to work out better.
Seems rare softs at the end yield enough benefit to overhaul a lead

Hopefully they use data from this to improve the carbon monocoque. Accidents will always find a way to apply a load you didnt expect.
