My parents are in Christchurch and they were wanting to move back. They struggled to sell their place in NZ so it's on hold at the moment.
I wasn't keen on the move, access to decent healthcare being the main concern for them. The quality of living is better in NZ too.

The thing is you don't realise how bad it's got.
It's because it's happened, slowly... ish, and people got short term memories.
It's a bit sad in a lot of ways I know, and I'm 100% guilty of living in the past, but I love a bit of nostalgia, any kind of documentary with footage or old episodes of top of the top etc, going back to the 90s and late 80s etc.
And it brings back memories, not only that but you look at things then, you look at things now and you think jesus Christ.
20 years ago this was a great country to live in, not so much today. I appreciate and fully acknowledge, globally in comparison it's not bad, but in comparison to it's former self it's mainly turned into a **** hole.
