Broken spark plug :(

Tuning an engine can often necessitate changing the plugs for one of a different heat range to prevent issues such as, for example, overheating followed by the tip coming off...

Are they the same grade of plug fitted as stock? Did you supply the plugs or specify which plugs should be fitted? If so you've probably got no leg to stand on. If TMS tuned the engine without at least suggesting that you might want a different grade of plug fitting then you've got decent grounds to expect them to foot the bill.

Just about the first thing that came to mind when i looked at the sparkplug images, it's another serious case of lolthorney.

Detonation can break electrodes...

Did you know that if you re-arrange the letters in this "tuners" business name you get:

Shorter Potty Moron
He Stormy Proton Rot
Hymens Rotor Pot Rot
Mothers Porn Rot Toy

Looks like all your cylinders are running hot to me.
i dont think its as simple as hot/lean beacuse of the level of deposits, something not right at all

i dont seem to hear anything but bad about thorney motorsport.

i change the plugs once a year in my cars, all high mileage blah blah blah they come out looking perfect.

as for heat range... i know one guy that ran a heat range that was 5-6 grades too hot (ie he was about 400 bhp over what he should be)

they did eventually melt down and kill the lump but his was a race car in race conditions, that astra is no where near that level, so even on oe plug it should be safe.

on my golf i went one grade colder (the grade VW used for their 225bhp lumps) as mine is closer to that than the 150bhp standard

Stage 2 software enabling teleportation.

teleports oil into the bores and sparkplug electrode "lucky dip", either ends up in the turbot or the sump.

youll wind up with a car that you wont be able to bring yourself to sell

images are blocked at work, but im sure it did say on there

would be good to know that compared to the oe spec. could be loltastic

looks like BKR6EIX, so grade 6, thats too hot for that power, grade 7 should have been in there. Also irridium plugs are not the best choice for power modded cars, its better to stick with nice and cheap NGK coppers, they are less prone to falling to bits!

I wouldn't let your 'tuner' tune my lawnmower

megalol. why doesnt that suprise me?

almost 50% power increase. schoolboy error really. the other guy i was posting about that was running a "race" engine with plugs that were 5-6 grades too hot was a tuner too!

Oh right i wasnt being funny then, iv got no idea what a tuning business costs to start thats all.

Depending what equipment you started with i think you could make a serious go of it with that much money, it would certaintly fund startup costs and the first year, the initial operation wouldn't be a complex as Thorneys / as many staff but you build that over time depending on demand / as you customer base expands, wouldn't start out with 5 staff members for example.

Firestar, charging customers £1000 for a "race exhaust" that looses power, and keeping a straight face?

for that reason, im out. i couldnt do what thorney does
