Actually yes it is, performance scaling is nearly 1:1 with extra fp32 tflops in Cuda workloads, just not gaming - that's really the problem here, Nvidia builds multi purpose GPUs and placed priority on work and gaming is secondary

ok how many slots are the 4090 series? pics look very wide

my current card is 3.5 slots, any thicker and I'll lose a much needed PCIe slot, damn i need my wifi and sound card.

I dont think it going to get worse from now.

Pound hit $1.08 historic low yesterday since 1985 but today it recovered went up to $1.09 now.

I found Pound US Dollar exchange rate history data and downloaded it and had a look at 1985 data, Pound was hit historic all time low at $1.05 on 25 Feb 1985 and recovered 2 weeks later, 1 month later on 25 March 1985 it was traded $1.17. 2 month later on 25 April 1985 it was traded $1.20. 3 month later on 31 May 1985 it was traded $1.29. I dont know what PM Margaret Thatcher had done on 25 Feb 1985 caused Pound crashed to $1.05.

Hopefully Liz Truss will follow same steps whatever Margaret Thatcher did back in February 1985 to help restore Pound strength fast to back up to $1.20 in November 2022 just in time for RTX 4080 launch so I can order MSI RTX 4080 16GB Suprim X cheaper. :D

I hope not I don't want to see interest rates like that or buying a GPU will be the least of my worries.
