Another £50 added to the price....

It'll get worse in the coming weeks.

Agreed, esp those who spend £1250+ on a card eh Dom
;)
:D

Yeah once and never again Si, Pre-owned market for me from here on out, These prices that Nvidia set are idiotic.

It's times like these that makes those £50 OG Xbox's in Cash converters look like golden nuggets. Plus the 360's etc. It's not the end of the world. But it is if you need to have the fastest and latest. As said a fool is soon parted with his money.

i'm seriously considering buying a 4090 as soon as it's available. i'm into VR gaming where the resolutions are higher than 4k and the gpu is all important.
currently i have an i7 7700k @4.5ghz with a slightly oc'd 3080ti fe, 32GB 3600mhz ddr4 ram, and MSFS tells me i'm gpu limited for example. i would prefer to just upgrade gpu and psu (currently 750w) but do you think i'll become cpu limited with an i7 7700k and a 4090? remember this is for use at very high resolutions where most of the work is done by the gpu.

Didint happen on the 3 series launch so dont see why it would this time with most people missing it out.
I am certain that there will be not enough 4090s to go around on day one, there will be disappointment in terms of people not being able to get a 4090 @ 50% extra performance.

You have the gamers then you have the enthusiasts, the ones that just brag, then you have the tight fisted FX studios who use gaming cards for professional use, when they should use quadro cards. they worse than miners and scalpers combined.

I remember last releases shizz show, what was it, 1000+ pages of moans from disgruntled buyers.

And its happening now, steam deck had a 1+year wait time, damn even after 2 years people still finding it difficult to find a PS5 at rrp

we need stability in the world, we need normality, why is everything all over the shop!......

It's kind of sad to see Nvidia knowingly conning people with literal idiot sticks. They can smack people over the head as many times as they want and the money keeps falling out. I've just got to say, if I buy an AMD card instead, will my games not be games anymore? Will they no longer look good or play good? I'd understand the 'enthusiast' angle a bit better if people weren't literally feeding their supposed hobby into a black hole of corporate greed but lapping up chopped down parts at inflated prices just seems like the most uneducated consumer response I can think of. You'd hope people would stand up to Nvidia and hold off a bit longer to see what AMD can offer at least. Improvements to FSR and a better pricing is all it would take for them to have good looking games, much more sensible price and a way out of the Nvidia shakedown game.
The videos I'm seeing point to Nvidia literally scamming their customers with false naming of cards and inflated prices.

Several 4090 Series cards are now live at OcUK, with more been added, this beast features 16384 Cuda Cores, a whopping 384-Bit memory interface with 24GB of GDDR6X:
£1679 for an air cooled 4090, £1829 for a factory overclocked one and £2k for one with a waterblock?

I think Nvidia's marketing dept forgot to tell their pricing dept that the "2-4x the performance of a 3090ti" line was ******** haha

I think at this rate teh safe bet is hang on untill November 3rd and see what AMD has to offer, was temoted by 4090 but would be willing to sacrifice a little performance for a cheaper AMD card

Are Nvidia going for Moore’s Law on prices or something? I thought I was nuts paying £730 for a 3080 on launch day. The rebranded 4070 is offensive.

Haven’t had an AMD card since 4870x2 but waiting to see what they release, golden opportunity to win some market share here. Nvidia have caused a lot of bad will with this launch.

EDIT - Just re-read the 1st post, the prices below are mentioned there as mostly place holders so probably renders this post null and void TBH.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before (and my search didn't bring it up) but I think the OcUK website is already showing the price range, as the pricing "filter" shows the following prices for the various card ranges -

4090 - £1680 to £2100

4080 16GB - £1300

4080 12GB - £1000

Feel free to check the website yourself for other video cards (say the 30XX series) and you'll see that the Pricing filter is accurate for those where you can actually compare the filter to prices shown.
