The prices alone kill all temptation for me, it makes it extremely easy to skip this gen on nvidias side.
You aren't alone with that sentiment. I'm currently stuck with an older monitor, with a G-Sync module. Now I'm thinking I need a new and more flexible monitor. Or maybe to quit PC gaming altogether

Best thing is it'll still be fairly **** at cooling, just like the last 2 gens of Aorus!

That's why in very curious about it - its significantly larger than other 4090's and it has more heatpipes than other 4090's but gigabyte cards normally don't have great temps so I'm keen to see if Gigabyte screws up again

Poll needs a "wait and see what AMD pull out of their hats" option.

As a 2080Ti owner, I was kinda hoping for a 70 series card at a 70 series price that would soundly destroy my current card. The 3070/Ti were *roughly* in the same ballpark as the 2080Ti, so I was thinking a 4070/Ti should crap all over it for about £500. But a) there is no 4070 for the forseeable and b) the 70 class card appears to be called the 4080 12GB this time, and that's about twice the price.

I could spend a lot more than that, especially as I can legitimately call it a business expense, but I'm not getting the "this is totally going to be worth it" feeling I got from my £950 2080Ti a few years back. So I'm thinking AMD might be the way to go. May even hang on and pick up a 3090 or Ti at a reasonable price (the non-Ti can be found for the equivalent of about £900 now, here in Australia), depending on how they hold up against the new generation or AMD when we actually see some benchmarks. And of course with AMD I could make a hackintosh...

That's quite unreal. Look at the size of the shroud to the bracket.

i think we have gotten used to those noctua skyscrapers for cooling cpus.. lets just rationalize and move on :D
gpus are not for the weak hearted as nexgen's going to be a lot more thiccer, get on with the trend

Sorry typo was meant to be 4080 12gb
ahh okay lol...

I waited for 4000 series, I'm still on a 980ti with a 3440x1440 monitor....

I had £1500 buget in my mind but not at these Nvidia prices what a joke line up.

I'm going to wait and see what AMD do on November 3rd and then go with the top end card even if it's over 1500

2 fingers up to NVidia and all that
