OCUK are neither friend or foe in this really and it remains to be seen if they keep their word about the top end cards hitting 2k if the pound recovers by oct 12.

Yeah someone on here mentioned prices are quick to go up and very slow to go down and that proved true. Businesses definitely aren't our friend and have to make money etc, but would have hoped long term loyalty would have trumped short term profits.

I may be wrong, and gosh, I do want a lower price, but isn't the price set on the exchange rate when OCUK buy the stock?

When the pay for it. I think Gibbo has said prices are based on $1.14 to the pound. If its less than that they will go up and it it gets to $1.14 they will be list price and if it goes up higher still there might even be some cards below FE prices.

Cant see the pound suddenly recovering though.

The pound hit 1.15 and the placeholder prices went up. I somehow doubt even if the pound went up we would see the benefits of it.

I'll reserve final judgment till the day before when we have a solid ideas of pricing but I'd rather risky a busy checkout than pay hundreds for for the basic skus or half a grand plus more for the premium ones.

Ultimately if I can't get a FE or one at reasonable cost I'll happily go with AMDs top card.

I mean I could get a 3090ti and keep a grand+ in my pocket if i really wanted one now. Makes you think.

And Id never have bought a 3090 class card, where it not for the crazy prices that CeX offered for 3080s :)

Thats great. But as I said, is all essentially relative. Even 3080 money for a lot of people with lower budgets, they'd be shocked by.

I think the 4090 price, is what it is. Its £100 more than the last flagship. Neither here nor there. I TOTALLY get people throwing their toys out of the pram with the 4080/4070, but the flagship has always been the flagship which is an overpriced extremely powerful card which very few people will constantly utilise to its full potential.

honestly hats off to Nvidia, their card setup and pricing is having the intended effect, everyone is either going to ***** it all on the 4090 or think the 4080 are so bad they will buy up all the old 30 series.
Then in a years time can fix their naming issues with Ti / Super cards

MSI no chance, only expecting Suprim X for launch.
Gigabyte yes will have both Aorus Master and Aorus WaterForce in stock for launch, but incredibly small numbers and the pricing is above 2k.
Is it going to be less than the Strix? I’m thinking with my case and what not as much as I don’t want an aio one it might just be easier.

My only concern with an aio one is re selling, would someone want to buy a 2nd hand one in a few years time. Gahhhh at least I’ve still got a while to decide :D
