if you can afford a 4090 then you can afford to be fleeced by scalpers, whatever the price it will be paid by some as they want the best, the mid range is where nvidia will have an issue, theres very little spare cash floating around, so if they have to fleece the high end to compensate for the middle, the you wont hear me complaining :D

Actually hilarious.
£700 more than Nvidia's FE card. What on earth are they thinking?
They only have limited stock on these I believe so quite willing to milk these early adopters who want the best Asus air cooled card. Madness really and I’m an Asus fan but will be staying well clear of this.

Why the rush?
You have a 3090, do you need a 4090 on launch day? no.

Coil-whine is such an experience ruiner... id want to wait to really find out which cards suffer worst from it.

Is there any game your struggling to play right now? That you absolutely cant turn a setting down on ?

There is nothing else that would improve your gaming experience more for that £1700 - 2200? Maybe a 4080 16G will be enough? Or an AMD RDNA3 card?
Hi mate, you do raise some good points.

I thought I had coil-whine before but I watched some videos the other day and realised I've never had it.

For myself, I'm about to get back into streaming as I have contractual obligations I need to start fulfilling, and I'm downgrading from a two-PC setup, so I need all the power I can get, I've also sold my old PC to a friend, and he's collecting it tomorrow so if I don't get a card tomorrow I'm going to be pretty screwed.

See with that price.. The 4090 Strix is :-

£1000 more than a FE 3090 when released.

£400 more than a FE 3090Ti when released. (the card we all laughed at hard even 3090 owners)

Give it a few more days and they will all be over £2.5k + ... The games begin again.

And some laughed when I said that will be hitting very close to £3k if not £3k, you can bet once they end up as out of stock and end up as pre-orders they will go up again and again, £3k on the way :D

Anyone changed their vote since seeing the reviews?

Nope, bought the Strix 3090 OC at launch and just not paying those prices again at least for now, I don't care if it was double the current performance.
