Yep bbc.co.uk is just the CDN fastly.com. I too find their (Fastly) latency to be the most stable to test against. And a SmokePing to bbc.co.uk (I always find their latency is stable).

Just ran it for her address, openreach and airband as with the other checkers. Always been terrible for cover, when I was staying there for a brief spell in 2006, ISDN was the fastest thing.@SixTwoSix have you tried https://bidb.uk/ ?
@SixTwoSix How about 4G/5G then in that area?
How long ago was the Airband trial? It might be worth talking to them to see if they admit to having issues and explain how they might have resolved them now. Otherwise it's going to be cellular which might also not be an option if you're very rural, or a satellite service for £££.
Wonder if anyone can let me know their thoughts on this.
Looks like FTTP has just happened on my street and as someone on a 24MB connection I am keen to go for it. Only problemm is I expect we will be looking to move house at some point. So I'm not keen to jump on a 24 month contract and also I not a fan of the price increases every April.
I have been looking at Aquiss as they offer 12 month contracts. I know the house buying process is going to take 6 - 9 months once we have even found somewhere so I'm happy to accept the cost of paying off any remainer of the contract.
Just wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions?
Go with Cuckoo. There's an option for no contract. So I'm not keen to jump on a 24 month contract and also I not a fan of the price increases every April.
For Plusnet FTTP its around £12 per month early cancellationAlso worth checking the contract cancellation terms, I cancelled my BT contract at least 6 months early when I got Hyperoptic installed and the cost to end it was pretty reasonable.
There isn't an internal socket, there's a small hole cover with a cable hanging out of it when then plugs into the ONT.
