Last bill was £75 after the price rises. My account says a discount is expiring when my contract comes to an end so will probably be higher if I stay.

My girlfriend is shortly going to be getting the keys to her new build home on Friday 19th May. She's looking to get a slight head start on getting services organised, with broadband being one of the most important as she works from home.
She's moving to a new build estate and it's been cabled for full FTTP by OpenReach. The new property is showing up on the BT checker along with the rest of the new development but it gives an error of "We cannot determine broadband availability at this location. This may be a new address to which connectivity is not yet complete." when trying to either place an order or look up the line information. There are already people living on the development and other addresses are working on the BT Checker ok.
Is there anything we can do to hurry this along so she can get up and running quickly, or are we at the mercy of OpenReach and it's just a case of waiting on them to verify things and flick a switch at the exchange?
Because after 6 months that is what you'll pay, including out of contract priceI think Aquiss are who I'll change to of I ever want faster than 74mb.
The no CPI increase is the main reason why. It's a practice that needs to die.
I also like how you can just look at the offer equivalent price, but still don't know why then need to give a discount for 6 months Vs just charge the equipment price every month.
I'm happy with 74mb fttp at £20 a month, yeah have downloads take a bit longer but everything else you don't notice it.
I'm currently in contact with Aquiss tech support as the BT Wholesale website and the Openreach website are both giving out confliciting information. Openreach is saying I can get FTTP, Wholesale is saying no. Aquiss are getting to the bottom of it for me so I can place an order with them. Others have rated them highly on here, and I trust strangers' judgements...!My girlfriend is shortly going to be getting the keys to her new build home on Friday 19th May. For Openreach's network?: https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/where-when-building-ultrafast-full-fibre-broadbandhow do you find out when fttp is going to go live ?? cables been laid in the street ?

Where you might be having issues is in new build areas where there isn't already FTTP in the town, so while Openreach can offer FTTP there might not be any ISPs with their links in place at the head end exchange that your FTTP runs back to. It's very rare but it does happen. This might also be why you end up in situations where e.g. TalkTalk can provide service but BT can't - either BT Wholesale haven't turned that exchange on yet, or they don't think they have the capacity at the moment.
I've just moved into a new build with Openreach FTTP two weeks ago. The property didn't get added to the database until ~3 weeks before completion, before then it said that 1Gbps was not yet available. Once I saw that it was available I dropped Aquiss a query to make sure they could serve this area and they could. My girlfriend is shortly going to be getting the keys to her new build home on Friday 19th May. Not with Openreach currently. 1000/200 is more expensive than two 1000/100 lines so not many residential ISPs (if any) sell them. I think the business cost for this is over £250 ex VAT the last I looked. Which encroaches into leased line prices.I'm guessing with FTTP there's no way of getting a better upload without an increase in download? So say 100 down and up?
Also been reading about 1000/220 connections, are these business only?
Symmetric speeds is more common with altnets. Openreach is currently using a standard that only allows asymmetric speeds (GPON). They have been testing a newer standard that offers symmetric speeds (XGS-PON) but it's been years since they started and no word on when they'll upgrade their network to it.I'm guessing with FTTP there's no way of getting a better upload without an increase in download?
