BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Saw beardy men with openreach vans on the bit of A road linking us to the exchange today. Feeding a huge drum of maybe 1" thick black cable into the ducts and another dude a mile down the road staring at the road probably waiting for it to pop up.

Sigh, mine has gone back to June 2012 as well. It's just a complete farce, I'd rather they just gave an honest date in the future rather than doing this. First it was Dec 31st until the last week of December. Then March 31st. Now today June 30th. It's just annoying.

Especially as according to the various spreadsheet by Cabinet seems done?!

was that a joke ? there just holding dates as in holding them backwards i agree with the above comments its a total utter British **** up !! why say a date knowing full weel its going to be months out ! if you bought a new car and they told you it will be at your house on a certain date and the guy rang up and said sorry its not going to be here until 3 months time you,d be well P **** off !! What i would say is come on Open Reach or B.T Sort your 12 month calender out :)
 
I don't think it's wrong of a large telecomms company to post estimated completion dates. Dates always slip, no matter what the industry. At least they are letting you know that your exchange is planned.
 
Well my cab went in 2 weeks ago. Been pushed back to June but the cab going in was more than enough progress for me - gives me time for my line rental with BT to finish and leave my options open to join sky or stick with BT

you must read the thread i didn,t say i was going to VM in fact i always wanted to go with B,T out of loyalty to my brother who work for them for 40 years ! VM is an option that i was looking at like most people do :) and i know all about the holding dates i do read what they put on Open Reach and B.T website .I think that you have a big complex about Spam KIA ! maybe you want to try it yourself ha! Bless your little socks :))

My parents exchange has gone from DEC, MARCH, and now JUNE. I asked my friend who has worked on the cabs and he says they are all up and running and can't see why the date would slip.
 
WTF... I just checked for BT Infinity... (it was due on 31st of March.. and the cabinets and wire's are actually all there.. I watched them do it over several days).... it's now 30th of June??!!! What the hell. I was looking forward to this as well for 10MB upload for skype with my wife.
 
BT checker still says nothing for my phoneline... however, I can finally see BT installing new FTTC cabinets down my road! I better not be in a dead spot... 4mb shared with 5 people is a pain...
