Well today was the day I got a taste of the real deal with regards to internet speed.
Previously:-
Now:-
I only have two days to wait now until my speed upgrade too. Estimated download speeds were 35.4 & 69.6 for the 40 & 76 packages so a slight improvement can be seen at the moment.
Another positive was that I am connected to a cabinet closer to the one I thought I was on...result.

Well i got Infinity today and was mean't to be on the 76/18 package but for some reason i'm on 38/8 i spoke to BT on the phone and they couldnt explain it as my local cab as been fully updated to the 76/18 thingymibob... they said it should automatically do it because i signed up the day before they were doing the speed increase they didn't want to mess about with the appointment and it should be done next week... does this sound right?

For those stuck on 40 after the upgrade, please can you guys do a bt speedtest and tell me if you are syncing at 40 or 80?
I have the same problem, but am not on BT.
Where do I do that, I was quoted 62mb but am only getting 50mb and when I go into MyBT it's still saying 38mb, I didn't get a email confirming it had been done either.

The problem with speed tests is that servers could be congested at the time of trying it. There is no real way to test speeds really as you never know if they have a lot of traffic.

Yes on the bt speedtester, on speedtest.net I'm getting 50

Yeah, the BT speedtester site has been giving me nothing above 2Mb all day yet I was downloading earlier at 8.8Mb

Looks like I was upgraded on monday as planned.
But it serves me right for looking at the estimates and not unlocking my modem sooner.
I guess that explains that then
That looks like the sort of speeds I am expecting - what did the BT checker predict for you?
