Fairly sure it'll be free, but you'll need to renew the contract.

Nope, they'll just be happy to tie you into a new contract.

If your out of contract they should give you a discount to stay if you blag them - call them on 0808 1002425

I think I am far away from the cab, but weird that I have decent upload speed. perhaps contention?

I think the max upload is a lot easier to obtain(upstream always seem to be less sensitive to noise?)!

Doubt it would be contention, check your IP profile on the BT checker.

unfortunately dad just renewed the contract but we're still gonna upgrade, will we have to pay for the modem or anything? we just got the HH3 anyway.

Got my Infinity 2 installed on Monday gone, and its been nothing but amazing, crazy fast and reliable, however, tonight the Home Hub 3 seems to not be playing well at all. The internet went down, after 5 mins i tried to log onto the routers web interface, but the page could not be displayed or reached - however the LAN traffic and wireless was working fine.
I restarted the router, but even after 20 mins the web interface was still unreachable, and the internet light was flashing orange. Gave it an hour - still no internet and couldnt get onto the router page. (router was giving out wireless fine, and was pingable)

Had to turn the modem off and router, then power the modem on and router back on to fix it, weird? Not sure why the modem would cause the router page to be unaccesible?

Anyone else not had problems with the modem/router acting up? I didnt want to reboot the modem cause it can lower your IP profile.

Not sure if its overheating, i wouldnt have guessed so - its just on the wall beside a nearly always open window in our front room. If it does overheat, would it not reset itself after X amount of time?

If/when it does overheat and crash, how would that stop me accessing the routers web interface (couldnt access on any PC)? Just curious..

Does this type of thing happen regulary with BT gear? :/ just worried incase it happens too often, dont wanna wreck my IP profiles =^_^=

I transfer lot of big files through SFTP from seedbox to my computer, can some body tell me if BT throttle downloading through SFTP ? Thanks in advance.

inam22, there are no throttles on any FTP activities, you'll be fine.

On a side note, the p2p throttling must depend on congestion since it's been over a week and I've been hitting 8.8mb/s at all times.
