BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Connection completely unusable again. Not happy.

Just check mine now mate.

Appears to be normal.

Quick question guys - after a fibre cab gets power installed to it - how long roughly does it take to start accepting orders? My cab is getting power this time next month.

Just been on with BT and a very helpful chap told me I'd be better off waiting a few months until my contract expires and then I will get some retention deal saving me £7/month off my current price. No point in missing out on that for an extra 20Mbps for the next 2 months.

Also depends how long you are into your present contract as it might be worth waiting until it's finished. If you don't mind a new contract I'd say deffo go for it :)

..cough ;):D

Good to know it's worked out in your favour though. :)

I have already emailed Ian today, the Indian noobs do not have a clue what I am talking about and want to send an engineer out - which will get me no where.

Keep posting on how you get on, I can also dig out the email address of the girl that was assigned to my case a while back if it helps.

By "Ian" I assume you're referring to Ian Livingstone? If so good luck with that!

You're better off emailing Liv Garfield, CEO of Openreach. She actually replied directly to me when I had a fault last year and kept me updated via her assistant throughout the process.

Ian Livingstone ignored my emails on the other hand.

I'm talking with Ian now and he always replies, I even chatted to him at 12 midnight!

will see how it goes.

Currently it's ok, but I'm going to keep an eye on it and do speed tests every half hour to see what time it does got to pot.

Edit, Some top boff at BT just phoned me - so the Ian route does work, Shes taking over the case and we are running tests over the course of the evening.

The Ian route deffo works as I too can vouch for it. Within sending an email to him I had a reply the same night and a phonecall from one of his team the very next day. The girl assigned to my case kept in constant contact via phone, text and email throughout until I confirmed I was completely happy.

Just for record Locky zero speed issues here again tonight.

Peoples stability issues may not be a fault of BT.

It could be the quality of the connection between your house and the cabinet.

You reckon? :D

Downstream Upstream

Line rate (kbit/s) 79999 20000

thats after days and days of sync.

I think it's to do with DNS servers. Also noticed that if I switch my PC off and the next day my brother switches his laptop on before me it makes mine unbearably slow and I need to reset HH3. I think it's a known issue with the gigabit port.
