Just got BT Infinity in the new home i moved to and im getting 37Mb Download and 8 Mb Upload !
Loving the upload speed indeed.
I did ditch the BT Home Hub 3 that i was supplied and used my existing Apple Airport Extreme that i was using.
Very fast indeed and i dont think i have much contention as well as it seems no one is on broadband along my road.
Oh i got them to cable the extension kit upstairs as the main PC lives there.

Oh dear, ifthats true i going to be introuble.
During the summer months my loft conversion can get absolutly baking!
I dont run my main gaming pc becuase of it.
If those modems overheat..... Im going to be in trouble.
Then again maounting it to a wall is still a flat surface?

Hmm.
Mine is sat on top of my Atom PC (ITX chassis) and it's only slightly warm underneath. It's been there since it was installed and is on 24/7.

Complete rubbish. I've had my Openreach/Huawei modem sat flat on a table since last summer and it barely even gets warm to the touch.
I've heard of a few needing replacement but not due to heat.
Only going by what I was told and have read.
quick google brings it up also.
My modem was getting extremely hot when it was not mounted. Very hot to touch. So I would belive it
Update..
My friend who lives in Swadlincote also had Infinity installed few days before me, is getting the same poor speed as me, his IP profile is the same as mine etc, so It is defo BT network problem.
Although not on Infinity I know a few people that have had broadband issues recently in Swad. Seems to me to be the aftermath of all the work in the area recently...
Our roll out plans are announced in tranches and we intend to cover at least 2/3 of the UK. If your exchange has not yet been announced, there is nothing more I can tell you at the moment as we will not have made any further decisions at this point. If you enter your name number on BT.com to register interest, you will be informed when we have a reasonably good view of when your line will be enabled and obviously check on line every quarter for the next batch of exchanges we announce.
I am sorry but I cannot advise further.
