Just as another load of half activated exchanged get bumped 6 months

BT will be rolling out FTTC in my home town next year at last. Ive seen them laying cable along the main road into my town aswell. But no sign of those green boxes yet, will they even need to be installed?

Also I forgot to ask, with the new rollouts BT are planning will they start with the standard 20/30/40mg connections or will they install any better?

My holding date has also been shifted back 3 months. Has gone December->September->December->March.

Cabinet was installed about a month ago, not sure if it's all finished yet or not - people were working on both cabinets side by side a few weeks after it was installed.
Just got to wait and see what happens I guess, been 10 years at 0.5-1mbit so a few more months isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but every time I drive past the cabinet I can't help but think 'when?!?!' :p

Then out of the Blue i get this..
Dear Mr Whittaker,

Cab 38 is nearing the end of its build phase. After this we will be commissioning and hopefully it will be live to take orders at the beginning of December as long as we don’t encounter any unforeseen problems.

Interesting as mine is still December 2012. I know my cabinet is going live middle of next month (they've confirmed over email) so perhaps the dates they are now quoting are a more realistic estimate of availability.

Especially as another guy above had his date pushed back to June 2013...

Is that from the [email protected] email address? Think I'll email them to see if I can find out anything more..

Same department (Customer Engagement) but the email exchange I had was from the head of that department.

I emailed the nga.enquiries address a few days ago to check it was on track and no delays and they said they had it down to complete mid November still.

just had it installed 10 minutes ago

Had mine installed today with speeds exactly the same as that and it's ridiculous. Would i eat my words in a few years time if i said, "Why do i need internet this fast?".

My infinity date has always been December 2012 but the exchange got upgraded to ADSL2+ and now Infinity within 2 weeks.

first installed 4 months ago
first in the cab

how much more can crosstalk take the maxrate down i think my cab is full to ****
profile 30a should fix that hope it comes out soon before i go below 80megs :P

Crosstalk chops LOADS of speed off at the high-end of the VDSL spectrum.

tbh 17a is only good for 100mbs, hopeful vectoring and 30a isn't too far away.

I can't really say, I was the first on the cab but that was with the 8c profile and before the modem could be hacked.

my speeds are brilliant now but has anyone has any experience with them dropping after this 10 day stabilization period? the engineer told me best thing to watch just download plenty really in them days and you always keep high speeds

LoLs, so clueless.

I've had it now for two days, sure not as fast as my virgin link (100Mbps) but it's plenty of bandwidth for me!

Not seen pings this low on Virgin Media in the last 10 years, or this stable either.

Thats why I don't want an engineer turning up when only my wife is home. She has zero technical knowledge and they would just take advantage of that.
