BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Mana: Been having a few issues with stability, my 2570n originally came with firmware v1.5.1.
Had to send it back to Draytek, as I bricked it due to a power cut while updating firmware.
Got it back yesterday with firmware 1.5.2 RC1 installed on it, definitely more stable, & it's syncing higher as well.

Will need to give the line a few days to settle down.

I was lucky enough to get FTTP installed in my block of flats a couple of months ago. Been on the 160Mb trial, and I'm pretty happy with the speeds :D

It's not *always* that fast, but I haven't seen a speedtest lower than 200 in the last couple of months!

Edit: I live on the Isle of Dogs, London E14, not sure if that's useful info or not.

Only 99% faster then the rest of the Internet..:eek:
 
An FTTC cabinet just appeared at the end of my road! Woo!

How long does it normally take between a cabinet arriving and fibre being available to sign up too?
 
2 more IPTorrents invites ready to go out, Trust if you want one.

PLEASE only active seeders, no point in joining if your not.

Last 2 people i invited were not active seeders and had their accounts deleted.
 
Hmm my dsl connection has just dropped. A restart of the modem hast fixes the issue.

Anyone else having problems?

everything smooth here, altho last night around the time you just posted I did lose connection and it came back around 10 mins later.
 
For the 2 guys above on the FTTP product with 260-280Mb+ speeds; you make me cry! We don't even have any dates for FTTx anything!!

Still sat on 4Mb ADSL2+ with Sky's LLU... :(

No VM/cable available either..
 
I am getting it installed on tuesday cant wait! but its strange that the comms box is just down the road from my house but on the site checker only says up to 39mb download and 5.8mb up any ideas ?

Wait and find out. Either the estimator is estimating too low, or you're actually connected to another cabinet.

I do feel your pain, I didn't get broadband until 2005 and when I did it maxed out at 4mb. It's just by chance I moved to a FTTP area in York. It's pointlessly fast now, I was going to downgrade to option 1 as there isn't much on the internet that can use this sort of speed.
