BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Anyone have some magic to see if they can find any info on my postcode of TN22 5GG :)

Its a new postcode, a new road (this year).

I believe we are connected to the same cabinet as TN22 5GW which is fibre enabled but I am unable to find anything further out, I also can't find a cabinet :-\

Buxted isn't connected, so unless for some reason you're connected to Uckfield exchang, which is further away, you aint getting it. If you're hoping for some kind of date, post on the BT community forums.

Its not Buxted ;) the postcode TN22 starts at Buxted so map systems think thats where it is at however we are not.

We are connected to the Uckfield Exchange for sure.

The link below is Teelings Drive (TN22 5GW), we are Old Common Way ( Not recongized on maps yet) at TN22 5GG.

Thanks :)

i did not quite make sense with the last post
the engineer said to me the modem will learn the line and if the full bandwidth is not getting used much it will lower the connection down what comes in, is this true or not ?

The statement above is untrue! The line is monitored by BT for stability. Noisy lines can see disconnections so BT attempts to find the sweet spot between bandwidth and stability. How much you do or don't download is irrelevant.

Did you ever reset the router/homehub Raymond? or it just auto adjusted to that speed itself?

My connection died last Monday and I did reset it, and not touched it since. But I did test again last week and it was around 40-50mb/s. It only hit 60 late last week, and 70 today.

I thought it always told you when your cab is going to be ready (estimate).

It didn't originally afaik (just the exchange), but it obviously has for a wee while without me noticing.

Last time I checked (about a month ago) it didn't say anything about my cabinet, just that the exchange was enabled, now it does.

Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 31st December 2012

I don't see that happening.

Well my exchange has been given the green light and is taking orders. I really do not want to go threw 263 pages to find my answer to my question soooo does BT throttle newsgroup access ? Anyone one had any issues yet ?
