BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Ofcom has been superb, just submitted my final statement, speedtests, photo's,etc, & now waiting for their decision.

Can't say more at this moment, but I will post the outcome in a few weeks, but I can say Ofcom has put forward some interesting demands to BT for settlement.

Will be very interested to hear the results of this. Good luck :)

Hard to say until the source of the disconnections is discovered. How often does it disconnect?

several times a day and then some times doesnt re connect for a while.

Been pants for ages, ever since all our lines went down and were repaired. but they always want to charge us and say its inside the building.

The same fault will probably affect VDSL2.

Why don't you ask an independant telecom engineer to check out all your internal wiring,I appreciate there will be a charge but I would think it would be cheaper than BT

any reason why the drop? should I contact BT as it has dropped a fair amount

I think ill be changing my mates tariff and adding the £5 unlimited part.

Im going to wait and see how stable the line is ................

Wonder if its worth getting a raspberry pie thing for a little low cost low noise ftp type server.

I signed up to BT infinity unlimited as far as I knew, have they implemented some caps or have I misread this last page?

An update/insight would be appreciated!

I must say I hate it when I torrent and the web becomes unusable! really sucks not being able to use youtube / normal sites etc

Not necessarily. Which package did you sign up for?

landlord signed up for it so i dont know. i saw on bt's site there is a 40/10 with 40gb limit or 76/19 unlimited. i can only assume from the speeds i get that we're on the poopy one and we're gonna be raped with loads of charges :o
postcode checker said estimated max speed was 56/16.

Ive got the new business hub today plugged it in and i didnt need to enter in any details and it works fine on plain dsl?

Much more stable than the other HGV 2001 or what ever it was called.

Quick question...

Son just had infinity installed this morning, checker estimated it @ 54/17,currently getting 38/12.

Does infinity have a "settling in" period or is it basically full wack as soon as it`s up n running? Poor old dad here has to settle for in the sticks slowband. :P
