BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

You will find that date will probably slip, I was told if the date is at the end of a quarter and end of the month it will move.

My exchange was Dec 2013 and that has not been pushed to March 2013

Mine says 31st December but is now taking orders - it is a holding date but it can be earlier as well as later (our cabinet was done Aug/Sept but exchange was delayed due to weather and olympics).

Yep but not a residential provision. Couldn't resist posting after playing with it.

1gb bearer currently running 500mb.

sorry :P

^^ Could be due to the flooding - I had intermittent connectivity for awhile earlier and BT's DNS servers (or some of them anyway) have been erratic I had to swap over to google's to get decent browsing.

EDIT: Currently 3 different cable damage issues ongoing causing widespread issues - 2 due to flooding (South West area) and one due to suspected theft or criminal damage (London).

Anyone on LCLEI exchange that's still on ADSL awaiting.. FTTC status: RFS date set : 31/12/2012. Can't wait myself, finally get off this 5mb line.

Has any got actual speeds faster than the speed checker says?

As im only getting 25/5 where as a mate in the same road just a few doors up is estimated at 40/15

be nice to get the fastest i could.

I really hope i can get a better download. Upload is not so important.

Ill wait till i see what speed i get before i upgrade to the unlimited

Anyone else moved from Virgin to BT? is it worth it? How was the change over (a lot of downtime)?

The price increase on Virgin is making me think my options through.

Moved some 8 months ago and it's miles better than Virgin. Move over was fine for me, as my Virgin was still on for a month after I had BT installed.

I would never go back to Virgin media. Well, not unless they sort their CS, pricing and network congestion out which won't happen any time soon.

well hes completely re wired everything and done some work at the exchange and a couple of green boxes and on first go im only getting 20mb and 2.5:(

Hope it gets better as he even said im very near to the exchange so should be getting much better

Which product do you have?

The important part of VDSL2 is distance between the house and the cabinet.

Holy ****!! You *******...

Full whack from the start. How is he measuring the throughput?

He should run the BT speedtest (Java) to find out the IP profile. http://www.speedtester.bt.com/

This speed tester never works for me, anyone know why?

Here is the error I got just now
