BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Their are two packages BT didn't switch people over when they changed to the new package. If you are on infinity 2 you will be peer blocked, if you are on Unlimited infinity 2 then it's no peer blocks. Matt100 if you just signed up then you should be on the unlimited package. Me thinks they stuck you on the wrong infinity package.

ARGH!

I'll leave it a week, apparently that is also a thing.. hopefully...

How long does BT take on bt residential usually to move an account from infinity 1 to infinity 2 and do you have to do anything, like reboot the modem? They said they were doing it a few days ago and i rebooted my modem but still on infinity 1.

I moved from BT to another ISP and that took 24hours so i would say BT would be the samething, nothing needs to be rebooted. I would say they haven't done it yet which doesn't suprise me to behonest

I moved from Inifinity2 to Infinity2 Unlimited soon after the product was announced.
I had issues actually getting BT to confirm the product existed - used the online chat from their site where over 2 days I was told that I was already on Infinity2 and Unlimited didn't exist, one of the girls actually disconnecting from the chat when I asked her if I could speak with a manager.

Eventually did the upgrade as an online order - looked like I was ordering a second connection and was relieved to see BT not turn up with another modem, but me in fact getting regarded after about 3 days.

So now I'm on my 74/18 connection totally unlimited.

For anyone who has resolved this, can you tell me how you did it?

EDIT: Hmm, apparently they're saying it seems to be an issue with the network which they're going to sort in the next 24-48 hours. Plausible?

Nope fake story by Delhi. We have identified a Problem at the exchange it will take 24/48 hours to be repaired ;)

I did another test to see if it was just out of peak times. Was a hassle to transfer from business to residential and then upgrade to infinity 2. But there was no talk of unlimited, I just assumed that it would be as i have come from an unlimited on the business side and the package on the website says its unlimited.

Downloads during peak times, right now, is going at 3-3.5 mbyte a second from 100mbit server in sftp. Looks like a 70mbit burst with a 3.5 cap in peak at 5.5 after 12 or something close to that. When I was on the business I would get 3.7mbyte constantly to the server, which was the max of the infinity 1.
