BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

You see these are not the only problems I have experienced since getting Infinity in the last 3-4 weeks.

I'v had my speeds go all the way down to 500Kb/s from 4.4MB/s overnight, which restarting the equipment 3 times fixed.

Iv seen speeds in KB/s from adobe and Nvidia sites.....

And now I cant play BFBC2!!

You need an engineer visit asap, sounds like your hardware is faulty. After the engineer visited my premises my connection has been rock solid 4.4 MB/s throughout, no dropouts or disconnects whatsoever

Say to them your net keeps dropping like every hour or so and when it does your speed drops drastically, and you can't get back to full sync anymore, should be enough to prompt an engineer visit.

Well my battlefield has gone down again, and also at the same time my youtube vids etc are starting to buffer.

Speed tests are really poor, time to phone BT me thinks, just phoned my friend and hes getting the same **** poor service.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 9285 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 12000-38717 Kbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is -38717 Kbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 8157 Kbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10000 Kbps

They could probably look at my connection logs to see that it hasnt been disconneting as much as I say.

Also WTF is this?

Flash update, wtf are they throttling the speeds?

Is this the same for you guys?

I saw the same BS from the Nvidia website also.

Its not even as fast as that in the picture. It only looks like its going that fast. Its much slower in reality.

I cant upgrade flash either, BT say NO!

What the F is this BS!

Jesus Christ! So far this BT infinity is an absolute Freaking nightmare.

Whats the point in fast speeds if you cant play BFBC2 or even download adobe flash!

To add insult to injury, I singed up on the BT forums to say wtf is going on, but you need flash to post!

Seems I'v gone from the best ISP's in Be there to one of the worst in BT!

Can I smash my head against the wall please?

I get the same speeds for some odd reason (from Adobe for flash player), yet from nVidia:

Weird....

EDIT: interesting:

When I download flash player I don't even break the 1kb/s mark

also YouTube is a no go for me atm

I'm going to collect all the evidence and send it to the CEO of BT se what he has to say.

Yeah I just use a VPN at peak times to avoid all the shenanigans, get full speed everywhere through a VPN, even on flash download.

I understand your frustration though with the stuff going wrong, I hate it too. Going to see off the contract and then go back to Be*, even if they dont have FTTC available in about 16 months time I'll switch back to ADSL2+ and 5mb.

But im 1 month in to an 18 month contract!

WTF am I going to do when BF3 is around and I cant play it, becuase BT say no.

Do you still think its somethiong wrong with my equipment?

Anyway, Im sure it isnt, I posted something on the BT forum, and some one posted back some bs is happening to them too.

This is awful. :(

Im hoping my BFBC2 issues are just temporary and it will dissapear soon.

It was working fine when I first got Infinity, and has been since. But this week has been issuesl ast 2 days at a time, with no server browser.

You tried forwarding steam ports on the hub?

The following ports must be open in your firewall and router for Steam and Steam Games to work:

UDP 1200 (used for friends service)
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27020 to 27039 inclusive
TCP 27040 and 27041 only for CyberCafe Owners

Computers running Dedicated Servers need these ports open:

UDP: 27015 and 27020 (default HLDS, SRCDS and HLTV port)
TCP: 27015 (SRCDS Rcon port)

Ok just tried BC2 and it's working, I bet after 6 tonight when the traffic shaping kicks in it stops working.
