Bugbear's "Next Car Game" need your vote - Steam Greenlight.

Loved FO, FO2 was good, FO3 was just a complete rehash of previous work rather than anything new.

I really hope they return to their old form, and if they do then I'll definitely buy this, but I'm not willing to gamble on a pre-order.

Really not liking this new update. Firstly you can't change car if your running a too high resolution. The handling is awful now.. It's really lost the nice feel that the cars felt to drive and it's taken the fun out of it for me.
It feels too fast and arcade like too now.. More like your in a rocket car on ice than a muscle car.
The Ai is worse.... You explode and take damage far too easy now.
Going by there forum lots think the same. Especially about the handling so I hope they change that back.

I can't help but feel that this is nothing more than a glorified tech demo in it's current pre-alpha state.

So many games fall into this category nowadays. Hoping this strategy dies out, but it does seem a great way for games to make a lot of money based on hype before they've actually done a huge amount/made a good game.

See DayZ standalone for the prime example.

I often buy into the Alpha/Beta stages of games. I do think it can ruin the end gaming experience. I was part of Elite Dangerous Alpha, however i don't regret it but at the same time i do. Patience... i just can't wait :D

Last Saturday we found out how to take the new LAN mode in new Build #5 online after the disappointment of not getting Tunngle to work Friday with new NCG LAN mod. ;D

For the details go here:

LAN over Internet WORKING!

LAN mode right now is bare bones, so there some issues and there lag between US and Euro players. So be sure to read the thread to see what you are in for if want to try Next Car Game online.

We did make history Saturday, we had a 12 player figure 8 race online. :)

I've been testing out some video recording software recently to see which I like best, using NCG as my test game for it. Had a nice run last night, I'm never this lucky on the figure of 8 track! :D

A taste of things to come:

Today we tested real deal online multiplayer with two new game modes, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. They need tweaking, sure, but they're here, and they work! In addition, we now have road side spectator cameras so you can watch how the rest of the race proceeds.
All this makes the next build worth the wait, no?
Good times, good times \o/

Here pic of newest car being added to NCG:

Bought this game ages ago, loaded it up and then was hardly anything to do. Fair enough I thought, I'll leave it till near the release date.

Any ideas when the release date is going to be?

This is correct. We're still lacking, to name a few of the features, multiplayer, game modes, tech tree, XP progression, tune-ups, music, career mode, etc. We're working hard on all those, but it'll take time. We're definitely not holding back on the release date out of spite. We'll tell you when we know ourselves. We were gunning for the end of the year release, but since we're currently focusing on overhauling the engine, we can't be sure we'll make it. So, we'd rather not give any promises now as we might have to let you down, and that would simply suck.

Once we get to the point where we start implementing the new features to the game, that's where it'll start to be interesting. That's when you'll get to try to break our game in earnest, as that's what helps us debug NCG to the max. But we're not there yet :)
