Bugbear's "Next Car Game" need your vote - Steam Greenlight.

Won't be touching it until release, too many bad experiences recently so now my pledge money is back I'll be keeping hold of it. Good luck - but after Rome 2 and X:Rebirth I'm done with pre-purchasing anything.

Such a shame their Kickstarter didnt work out. :(

Anyway, some good news, they have released the PLAYABLE sneak peek if you pre-order and its available to download now! They send you a download link after pre-ordering.

Info here - http://nextcargame.com/pre-order/

Ive been playing the demo and its great fun, its basically a massive sandbox area that they use to test the game and also where they recorded a lot of the gameplay footage like the one a while back with the crushing machine. That is in the playable demo and is a right good laugh pushing AI cars into the crusher.

The physics/ragdoll in this are awesome and it runs super smooth on my rig at max settings.

I'm sure that this is still a safe bet but I totally understand people being wary these days.

They've had a significant amount of buys under their belt since before the Kickstarter started and I think it's the reason it failed so spectacularly. Most of the fans already put their coin down.

Checkout the soft body car damage!! :O

Bugbear of Flatout fame, has release new sneak peek playground demo for players that pre-ordered their new derby/racing game. Bugbear has taken their damage model from the Flatout series to a whole new level!! :D

If like what you see, be sure to head on over to Bugbear pre-order page and get your pre-order in and get link to sneak peek demo and show your support for Bugbear who is trying to go without a publisher this time around. And yes the "Next Car Game" has been already Greenlighted on Steam. Will see Steam early access ( alpha version ) in the near future. :) Maybe full game get release in May 2014 if Bugbear stay on schedule.

But this is big news Bugbear taking the damage model to a new level in racing games, don't ya think this news deserves it own thread?

Unfortunately the word did not get out enough, Kickstarter got cancel. Guys are posting on the youtube sneak peek videos, they would have pledge if they knew about Bugbear Kickstarter campaign.

Some more great news got posted Sunday over at Bugbear forum:

24 cars on track - GREAT! And a quick question

Janne Suur-Näkki said:
Well, more cars was one thing that you guys were asking, wasn't it? :D

Unless something major comes up, we will keep the 24 cars for the full game at least for offline play. We have been already testing track races and derbies with the full grid of 24 cars, and thanks to our efficient tech, the performance hit is surprisingly minor. The chief problem is that, as you can imagine, the tracks get extremely crowded since most of them have been designed for a lesser amount of cars, so the going gets quickly very rough. But of course that's something that can be worked around, so it's not really going to pose a problem.

Online is something that we cannot confirm yet.

:)

Here a good video of guy enjoying the sneak peek video:

Purple44 works for bugbear?

Nope, don't work for Bugbear. Just been a big fan of the Flatout series since 2005 when I got to play the Flatout 1 demo. I have done some track modding over at Flatout Joint.

It been a long wait for a new Flatout type racing/ derby PC game ( Ultimate Carnage in 2008 ) to come to the PC. So just trying to get the word out to old and maybe new Flatout fans.
